“Good value for money hotel”
Excellent location on the Avenida Liberdade and close to metro stop. Very pleasant staff. This hotel is easy walking distance to a variety of cafes and restaurants for breakfast, coffee and dinner. In the evenings, the Avenida Liberdade is very safe. During the day, either walk or take the metro further south. Rooms are small - typical European size.
“les chambres bien, tout le reste bof bof bof”
ils ne comprennent pas un seul mot de francais et leur café est imbuvable! sinon, bien placé dans la ville. ca compense...
“Will consider it next time”
Very good location, very friendly personnel. More expensive than better hotels at the same time of the year in Granada, Sevilla, Toledo, Cordoba but probably because it's a capital city. Couldn't find a better deal.
“Adequate, well located, lean on amenties”
The hotel staff was great and the location very good. Room very basic...ones in the front are larger but noisy due to street traffic. Rooms in the back quieter but smaller and darker. Air conditioning in both front and back rooms worked minimally. Breakfast pricey and is in a very hot stuffy room. Walk 3 blocks north and have an outdoor pastry, coffee, and melon for half the price. Easy walking distance to many things and cabs, which are always parked out front, are very inexpensive. If you have limited time, use them and save yourself lots of time. By the way to ride from and to the airport should only be about mid teens. Be careful when arriving in Lisbon as they want to charge twice the price to get to the hotel. They do not have a meter so do not take one that does not have one. Overall hotel met our needs. They are pricey in Lisbon so this is a good bargain (they often do early booking specials). Ask to see the room first. Safes work in some of the rooms. One huge bonus was that we were renting a car after 3 days heading out of Lisbon to tool around for 10 days and Auto Europe is located next door in the Tivoli Hotel and could not be more easy. Do not rent one at the air port as the taxes are ridiculous. The hotel is near many of the major highways and makes exiting and entering the city easy.
“Enjoyed my stay”
I would recommend the Veneza, but underline that the rooms are small, with relatively high wi fi connection charges, and hotel access not always available. In my opinion the Veneza is a very good three star hotel, and not in the four star category. But I have gotten to know the neighborhood restaurants, and find the location convenient to the Metro and taxis readily available. The staff is generally helpful, but the personnel on weekends does not seem as professional as they might be.
“Better situated than map indicates”
This hotel was very nicely situated half way along Avenida Liberdade. The airport bus stop is just a few yards away. It's located close to one of the best fish restaurants, Ribadouro - stand at the bar and order a beer and spanish prawns. Cafe Bela Ipanema serves the best coffee and a huge selection of wonderful pastry. They will parcel up a selection for you to bring home! The transport is very good but walk as much as you can as there is so much you could miss. Veneza Hotel was lovely. The staircase was 'open' while we were there but it does look impressive. We didn't have breakfast or use the bar. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the cleaners kept replacing our towels after one use even though we followed the notice and hung them up to dry to be used a second time. I would recommend this hotel but we will probably book another one nearer to Bairro Alto on our next visit.
“Typical little old european hotel”
This is a typical little old fashioned european hotel, many like it around europe. clean, small rooms, friendly staff, people at the desk speak english. personality, charm. If you're going to Lisbon to experience Portugal and europe, it will be just fine. It's located conveniently right on Lisbon's main drag, a suitable spot to catch a few hours sleep in between sightseeing jaunts; and very inexpensive, too. perfectly satisfactory in all respects. On the other hand, if you're being forced to stay in Lisbon for business, (and are not going for the experience), then you will hate it; then, stay at a big american style chain motel with a pool and a fitness club, etc.
“Well located and good service”
Nice hotel, very clean, friendly staff and very well located. I recommend this hotel.
“Satisfied Customer”
Fantastic location and good deal for the price considering the location. Small room and bathroom, but very clean. Staff helpful. No complaints. Robert from Montreal, Canada
“lisbon”
Very well located. Shutle bus from airport stops just opposite hotel. Short walking distance to town. Very clean and good size room. Very friendly staff. Execellent holiday!
