“Great for a golf break”

Perfect for a golf break as the course is on site - a James Braid historical little gem. Lovely views all around. Food very good. No bath in room - a downer for a knackered old golfer! The carpet was a bit soiled, but very comfortable all around.

“Typical UK seaside hotel”

This is a typical British seaside hotel - pleasant staff, nice rooms, but in need of renovation. The bar/restaurant is hotter than the fires of hell during the day if the sun is out - but the radiators remain on! Fortunately there are other public rooms that are nice and cool and one can take drinks and food into them. As is common "out in the boonies" the food is plain and not necessarily attentive to detail. Judging by one meal (a mixed grill) "medium rare" meant "cooked right through". The staff are all pleasant and helpful. Little things tend to get forgotten however - no hand towels in the bathroom, no teaspoons or napkins on the breakfast table, that sort of thing. None of this spoiled our stay though - had a great time.
