I booked the Radisson Blue expecting a higher level of quality than its adjoining sister Park Inn. I don't think I'll be returning.
The room was not, as the gentleman at check-in told me, a quiet one. The location of the bathrooms bordering on the next room's sleeping area make that a light sleeper will wake up if their neighbor has a small bladder or decides to take a 20-minute shower at 6am.
The room in general was noisy. From not knowing if someone was knocking on my door or a neighbor's to the enthusiastic couple with the terribly squeaky mattress that loved nooners, nighters and 2am'ers, plenty of entertainment.
For a person with back issues, the mattress was very uncomfortable, just too hard to make it through the night.
A last small point of irritation, and this seems to be a Belgian thing, the hotel assumes their guests are all clairvoyant. Check-out times are not posted, not mentioned and not on your key-wrap. That handy book that we are so used to that tells us when check out is, where the lounge and restaurant are, if there is laundry service, how to order room service or which number to call for help, is simply non-existent. When asked about it, I was told "Oh yeah, we don't have those anymore".
I'm sure the hotel has a lovely bar or restaurant, maybe even other amenities, but they make no effort to tell their guests about it.
I would not recommend this hotel, Hasselt has better places to stay, with equally convenient locations.
