“fantastic surprise”
After travelling around peru as a family of 4 and staying in many hotels we ended our stay at the peru star and it was the most comfortable, clean, spacious with all mod cons accomodation by far, there is a good choice and variety of food available and reasonably priced. its only a cheap taxi ride to mirafloras and hotel staff are able to accomodate any needs/wonts, wished wed stayed there sooner.
“Would love to return soon!”
The Peru Star Botique Apartments turned out to be an excellent choice. We stayed there for 3+ nights (we were given a very late check-out on the final day to catch a midnight flight) and enjoyed our entire stay. Our apartment (not just a room but 2BR, Living and Dining area + Kitchen & Bath) far exceeded our expectations. There was one unexpected surprise; that was the fact that Peru Star has an excellent restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. A very nice basic breakfast was provided as part of the room rate. You could supplement this with other dishes at very reasonable costs. We also experienced their lunch and dinner menus which provided quality traditional Peruvian dishes at very reasonable prices. There were also other restaurant choices in the neighborhood and also stores if you wished to obtain beverages or snacks to use in the apartment. The Peru Star management has compiled a very useful and accurate guide to sites and activities in the area and in the city in general. We walked to many things (including a huge pyramid) in the near-by neighborhoods. We traveled by taxi to other areas of the city to visit historic sites and museums. The management assisted us in getting taxis and this travel was very reasonable. We enjoyed our time in Lima and found the Peru Star a very good and safe location to serve as a base for visiting the city. We hope we can return and spend additional time visiting other parts of Lima.
“Great Service”
This hotel is in a decent location, though not amazing. You can take a 10-15 minute cab ride to most places you'd want to go, and location wise the main miraflores plaza would probably be quite a bit more exciting. But it's not bad, and the room was a decent size and pretty clean. But the best part of the hotel was the service. Everyone of the 5 or so employees I dealt with in my stay there were amazingly helpful, all very willing and ready to solve any problem I might have or help me find my way around the city.
“Great Place to Stay!”
Peru Star Boutique was a great place to stay. They provided outstanding service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We came and went between this hotel and other destinations within Peru and they stored our extra luggage which was a great service and convenience to us. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Peru Star was easily worth every penny.”
Although we were only in Lima the last day of a two week trip to Peru and Bolivia, Peru Star was one of the most memorable places we stayed. The staff (James) went above and beyond the call of duty, even walking me down the street to give directions and food recommendations. I would have loved to stay here a few days more and explore the city. It's too bad that we had heard bad things about Lima, because we definitely wish we would have spent more time there. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood and features a beautiful courtyard that they pull right into after picking guests up from the airport. The room itself was fantastic and even had a very nice kitchenette, though we didn't use it. One thing to note is that while this is centrally located in a very upscale neighborhood, you will need to take a cab to get to get just about anywhere (Miraflores or downtown Lima). I think it would be best for someone looking for a relaxing extended stay destination, or home base for a work trip. James did teach us how to negotiate with the cab drivers, and gave some basic safety tips. If I ever go back to Lima, there is little question about where I'll stay. Peru Star was easily worth every penny.
“Will Stay Again!”
The hotel was a small bed and breakfast type. Great internet for business and the room was very nice. I will definitely stay there again. The fruit salad at breakfast was a great thing to wake up to and the staff was very friendly.
“WONDERFUL!”
We stayed here our last night in Peru and kicked ourselves that we had to leave! It was super nice. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! They were wonderfully accomodating, printing out our boarding passes and bringing up coffee and toast at the wee hours of the morning. If I go back to Lima, I will be staying here!
“Good hotel”
Nice hotel the staff was extremely helpful.
“good buy and friendly service but location won't work for all”
This funky, friendly budget apartment hotel is a great place to stay if you have extended business in Lima. Ride from airport was safe and reliable, in-house native English speaker James was helpful with travel tips and advice. but the quiet San Isidro neighborhood meant that we spent a lot of time in taxis.
“Liked!!!”
I've been in different hotels in Lima, for business. This time all were busy, and I could find this small, friendly and well located hotel. I had the big room in the first floor: wonderful! Noise of people outside can become a problem in you plan to sleep after 8am! Reception guys very helpful and kind. WI FI, seats in the garden, home ambient. Very nice option for a low price.
