“A practical place”

Functioned perfectly as an overnight stop near the airport. Clean, reasonably quiet, properly managed. No problems whatever.

“Great for airport stopover. (or longer as it is a full appartment!)”

My wife and I only stayed there one night during a 8-10 hour stopover at the airport, so can't comment too much on proximity to tourist things to see and do. We arrived, slept and left at about 4am the following morning. Location-wise it was reasonably close to the airport. Prior to arrival the management contacted us and offered to pick us up (for $10). I'm sure that a taxi would have been half of the price, but for the convenience it was worth it. (and the hotel may have been a little hard to find as it did not seem to be clearly marked from the outside). The room wasn't just a room, it was an apartment with a lounge/dining area, a seperate full kitchen and apliances/utensils, bedroom and bathroom - great value. It was a little dated, but clean an comfortable. Strongly recommended.

The proprietor of this establishment is very friendly and helpful. He contacted me via email before my trip and helped coordinate some arrangements for travel around the Lima area. The room was clean and comfortable but if you are unfamiliar with how Peruvian buildings are constructed beware - the rooms are not climate controlled nor are they entirely sealed off from the outside environment. Since Peru has a very mild climate it shouldn't ever be a problem but don't expect to be able to maintain your room at 70F and 40% humidity regardless of outside conditions. All rooms are equipped with WiFi internet access which was nice. San Miguel is not known for being as safe as Miraflores or San Isidro but this hotel is located in a corner one block away from the main thoroughfares in a residential neighborhood. I didn't have any problem during the week that I stayed there and being relatively close to the airport makes the arrival and departure much less stressful.

“Hard to find...”

You could use the hotel's pick up service ($10). But not very reliable. In our case, the driver did not show up to pick us up either, as some others experienced. We had to use the taxi, and they charged us $20! (maybe because it was a holiday). We strongly recommend to bring the direction to the hotel (we brought the print outs of the surrounding area of the hotel) because it is located in a residential area and no taxi driver can really find it without it! The hotel room was clean and spacious. It was ok since we had the early flight next morning.

“Machu Picchu Suites”

Had a layover for 12 hours so this was a very good location at a very good price and they provided great service.

“Close to Lima airport.”

Very convenient to airport in Lima. Good hotel to use if you have a 1 night layover. No complaints. Driver was waiting to pick me up as agreed.

“Closer to airport, but that's all”

I booked this for one night between a late flight arrival and an early departure the next morning, as it's closer to the airport. It is closer: it's about 15 mins drive, instead of about 30 (late at night or early in the morning) to Miraflores, but it's not so close to be really worth it and next time I think I would just pick somewhere a little better and travel a little farther. It was adequate, but I wouldn't stay again. Positive: I arranged airport transfers at $10 each, and there were no problems there, hot water and wifi all fine. Not so positive: the hotel itself is very basic: I had a very cramped room near reception (quite noisy, especially with doorbell), and with no lock, but the main thing I didn't like was that it smelled very musty. Also there are no places to eat very nearby (I didn't need any, but it's a poorer mainly residential area, you'd have to go to the main road to find somewhere to eat). The other thing I didn't like is that while I was checking in, a guest who had returned to pick up luggage asked to use the bathroom, and they wouldn't let her, even though there is a toilet right next to reception.

“Looks like a hideaway”

Far from the airport. In a middle class neighborhood. A house converted to a hotel. No visible sign outside until the gayes open. Get in, no one will know where you are. Scary at first. Nice people. Efficient service. Not roomy at all. Musty odor. Aggh. Would not come back there.
