“OK Hotel”

The location is a big problem because no taxi driver knows this one. For the first time: you are at the driver's mercy. Second time: write down the major intersection (Bonavides from downtown - before Faucett). Give the note to the driver. Otherwise, no chance he can find it.

“A little farther than 5 mins from airport...”

This was an okay place and relatively inexpensive for Lima--the neighborhood was nothing to write home about, however.

“O.K. for short stop”

Jankanoo Inn was in a pretty nondescript neighborhood, and not too far from the Lima airport. We arrived late at night, and thought someone would be at the airport to meet us from the hotel, but apparently there was a mix-up in communication, so we found a taxi driver who called the hotel for us. The staff was waiting for us when we got there. Room was very small, on inside courtyard. TV went on unexpectedly in very early morning, and we had to unplug it to turn it off. The staff cooked breakfast for us -- we didn't see any other guests -- and had a friendly taxi waiting to take us back to the airport. We paid about the same price here as at the Gran Hotel Bolivar a week later -- much better location with bigger rooms -- although quite run down.

“Just stayed for transfer to Cusco”

We have stayed at this hotel to wait for the transfer air plain to Cusco. The hotel price was very cheap and the hotel accomodation is good to the extent of the price. The hotel does not speak Engligh, but was kind and helpful. It could be one option for staying one night or for cheap travel, not for long time stay during the vacation.

“Excuse for credit card use”

When we wanted to pay the rooms by credit card, the manager told us that the machine was broken. He told us to go to a nearby teller machine to get cash. Later we found out that was the usual excuse for the hotel to avoid paying commission fee to the bank or credit card company.

“Lima”

In a rather run down part of Lima,in the area of the port. Its saving grace was that it was near to the airport,as we were only staying briefly in Lima
