The place is very quaint and welcoming; quite a charming environment. Most of the staff is helpful, especially Edwin And the young man who serves us breakfast and clean the rooms.
Juan, the manager, tends to be a bit moody. But, he is still cordial.
The place could improve on what it offers for breakfast; they serve the worst scrambled eggs we’ve ever tried! 😳 Adding some fruits to the menu would not be such a hardship and coffee and tea should be available all day.
The best thing about staying at Hostal Porta is the accessibility to the landmarks and safety as well. Very relaxed and comfortable staying in this place.
I don’t consider the hard mattresses a bad thing when taken in the context of superior services, super clean rooms, good breakfasts, the mellow atmosphere, and the wonderfully friendly people. I would definately stay here again and recommend it to all who want all of the above.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days the price of this hotel we couldn’t pass up in a great neighborhood close to everything. The staff is super friendly fresh towels everyday and hot water which is great! Only complaint the internet wa spotty and you could hear everything as the walls are paper thin... and when i mean everything i mean EVERYTHING.
