“Did the job”

The aftermath of the hurricane a few weeks ago has drawn a lot of contractors from the surrounding states to help out rebuild and almost every hotel in the New York area was booked out. This Quality Inn was available. I travel a lot for business and I usually stay at high-end hotels. I was a little bit worried reading the reviews before I got to the hotel. However, the room was clean, the bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom had all amenities you would expect from a well-run hotel and the hotel was quiet despite being completely booked out. The front desk was very friendly with a prompt service even at 2am in the morning when I arrived and at 4:45am when I left. Many high-end hotels in the world had real trouble of serving me at that time. The only thing I could point out is the fact that the carpets in the hallways look a little bit worn and give the impression of a hotel not well kept. I didn't see the pool or experience the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. I was satisfied with my stay at the hotel and would recommend it if you are in the area.

“Okay hotel for an OK price”

I was disappointed as I asked for a ground floor room and did not get one. This hotel needs to add an elevator as it is not easy for everyone to climb stairs to the second floor, especially with luggage. When registering I was not advised I did not get a ground floor room. When I asked, I was simply told "Ya you did not get one", no apology, no explanation. I think I should have been informed when I arrived that they were unable to satisfy this request.
