Hotel ImmenitiesPosted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: I must compliment the Tropicana management. They really went all out with renovations to the hotel to make it "eye-catching" & the stay pleasureable
Cons: Guest towels need to be fresher/fluffier [women focus on this] & Beach Cafe is nice but I would like to see more casual dining restaurants
Location: Couldn't ask for a better location...its right on the strip and conveniently located in walking distance to other well-known Hotels/Casinos
This was my second stay at the Tropicana! My visit this time was much more pleasant! Of course, it helped that I won in the casino the first night of my stay...hahaha! But seriously, the staff really were more customer-service oriented than ever before!

5 days attending a wedding.Posted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, room.
Location: Near the airport. Plenty of everything close by.
The Tropicana stay was our first. Nothing really negative to say but lots of positives. Staff were more then helpful from luggage to front desk. Cleaning staff were friendly and punctual. I'm not a big gamer but they had just about everything except card tables. Just walked across the street to MGM and there were tables there. Rooms were big, and never heard anything from anywhere else once inside. Pool is sufficient, not huge but nice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wheelchair accessible roomsPosted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: It is well-located on the Strip and is reasonably priced.
Cons: It would be great if there were mini-fridges and coffee makers in the rooms.
Location: The location is very close to many other hotels and shopping.
The room at the Tropicana in Las Vegas was spacious and clean. However, the accessibility for someone confined to a wheelchair was not optimal. There was a pull bar by the toilet and pull bars in the tub. However, there was a toilet riser which only added a couple of inches to a low-rise toilet, making it the height of a regular home toilet. This make it more difficult for handicapped guests to use. Also, their is no walk-in shower for wheelchair guests. The casino was clean and had a variety of games to play. It smelled like smoke but all the casinos were the same that way (to a non-smoker). The front office staff must have been at the end of a shift. We had pre-paid reservations made more than 2 months in advance with very specific needs but, when we arrived, the lady at check-in said we just had to "take what we could get". Check-in took about 30 minutes.

Had conference in same hotel, loved itPosted 17-Apr-2014
Location: The conference I was attending was the conference center at the back so the location for me was excellent. Got to go up to my room a few times.
I went to Microconf and stayed at the tower in the back. Quite enjoyable. Room was very clean and cleaners did a great job (I'd managed to get some water on the bathroom floor while showering and it was cleaned up nicely). Beach Cafe is decent and open late(if not 24hrs) so that was great. No complaints really. The only thing I'd say is that it wasn't fancy in any way. So, if that's what you're looking this may not be the place for you.

Friendly, convenient hotel on the stripPosted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Super convenient; friendly staff; Vegas, but not VEGAS, in a good way
Cons: The room was either freezing or hot. We called the front desk, but they told us the thermostats don't actually work, so the air is either on or off.
Location: Closest hotel to the airport; all the South Strip casinos are close by. The pool area is very nice.
The Tropicana was renovated extensively not long ago, and it shows in the bright, airy spaces. The room was clean and tidy, although lacking a few things (nightstands on both sides, working thermostat). The biggest seller for this hotel is its convenience. You can be from your room to the parking garage or the Strip in minutes, without trudging miles through a noisy, smoky casino. The staff were all super friendly, and greeted everyone passing by in a nice, not pushy, manner. It's at the very end of the Strip, so while the Mandalay Bay/Luxor/Excalibur complex are close, and MGM & New York New York are nearby, the mega hotels (Caesars, Mirage) are a hike. Overall, we really liked it, and already booked for next year!

Nice Hotel but poor servicePosted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Pool area is nice. The hotel is bright.
Cons: Employee attitudes at all levels....front desk, pool, rewards desk.
Location: Good location, but too far south on the strip.
The hotel has been nicely remodelled, but the service at the front desk was terrible. Also, we had no water in our shower for the first day. The plumber was able to fix the problem, but I have never experienced such an issue in any hotel in the world. The pool area was nice, but again the staff was not cooperative at all. The attitude of the employees was terrible....NOT RECOMMMENDED!!!!!

7 days of heavenPosted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: It looks and feels very tropical
Location: Right beside MGM, across from the Excalibur. The big Bonus close to bus stops to go to outlet malls and Freemont> escalators to cross to either hotel.
We loved it, this was our second stay at the Trop. Very nice smell through the casino, the cigarette smoke is not that bad, compared to some other ones we stayed at. Staff was very friendly, our room was cleaned very well everyday. My only comment was the bathtubs, several people said the same thing, they are chipped and need a little resurfacing and the drain took forever. However this is Vegas it is was it is. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. The thing about the Trop " its small and personal you don't have the crazy of the Flamingo" We have stayed at the Flamingo several times enjoyed our stay there but got a bit tired of the constant in you face everywhere> and it never goes away. We did go there and was happy to get home to the Trop .Our week felt like a few shorts days. We love Vegas....

More than adaquate clean hotel.Posted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: We liked the location, friendliness, cleanliness. Good food but very pricey.
Cons: Restaurant and drink prices were too high. We enjoyed the Beach Restaurant but twice experienced very poor service around the noon hour.
Location: We appreciated the easy access to the overhead ramps to easly access the other facilities. We would have appreciated shuttle service too downtown.
Good experience with the hotel staff. The bathroom in our suite had a severley pitted tub and the fan had trouble clearing the humidity post shower. The food in "the beach restaurant" and "Italian" restaurants was great. The ala carte menu in the pasta restaurant and steak restaurant caused us to go elsewhere to find less expensive alternatives.
