The hotel overall was nice. The carpets need to be cleaned.

Pros: Convenient room location, cleanliness and room comfort.
Cons: The restaurant selection in the hotel was fairly limited for people with a restricted diet, so we had to eat at other locations. We are vegetarian.
Great room, convenient location, nice and clean. Loved it!

We had a great time at the Tropicana!

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Comfortable beds
Cons: Better plumbing in the tub
Location: Right at the end if the strip in Las Vegas. Close enough to get anywhere on foot but off the crazy, noisy-ness
We had a great time at the Tropicana! The room was clean and comfortable. The check-in was easy and quick. I usually don't sleep well in hotels but I slept soundly every night. The only complaint we had was the tub in the bathroom didn't drain, yuk! (That's the only reason for the 3 on conditions)

Great clean hotel, helpful staff

Posted 23-Jul-2014
Cons: My only dislike was the limited amount of food choices.
The lady at check in was amazing and extremely helpful. The room we had pre-booked had already been filled so we received an upgrade (which actually didn't benefit us as we would have preferred the two beds instead of a king). The woman tried to make sure we had everything we needed and even ordered a second bed for us. She also inquired if we'd need a refrigerator for our baby. The room we received was large, clean, and even had a little patio. There was even an attached room which would have been excellent for us had our children been a bit older.

Pros: good value, clean, courteous staff
Cons: check in time, black out curtains needed
stayed here several times. Cheaper than MGM and Mandalay bay and in similar location. room clean and spacious. Plantation shutters does not keep lights out well, need shut-out blinds/curtains. Staff courteous and rooms clean in general. Need more dinning options. some visits, not often, check in time can be long > 40 min wait.

Overall Great. But.

Posted 23-Jul-2014
Pros: The rooms were clean & the staff was friendly
Cons: Front desk often took nearly 10 minutes to answer the phone. Casino never had $5 blackjack. & NO poolside DJ waking up people staying there!!!
OK. I gave it 4 stars, so I liked it, but I will nitpick. So I booked it thru the "pay now, find out the name later" system & got a great deal. They couldn't guarantee the bed number, but they did promise 2 queen beds over the phone. Got there & guess what? Only 2 queens in a smoking room. :( But they brought up a roll-out which was nice & offered to move us the 2nd day. 2nd day - guess what? They moved us to a room with 2 queen beds -- in a smoking room! (& it REEKED 100x worse than the casino floor). But they agreed to move us again & shortly did. A note about the Club Tower: If you are on the odd # side of the hallway, you WILL be woken up the next day by the poolside DJ. On the 7th floor, buried under pillows and with earplugs in, the music was still POUNDING. Really, Tropicana? The number of people wanting DJ music at the pool is greater than the number of people wanting to sleep in a bit? In VEGAS??? Otherwise, the rooms were clean & the staff was friendly. Front desk often took nearly 10 minutes to answer the phone, which wasn't great. And the casino never had $5 blackjack, which as a low-roller I would have liked. But otherwise, good. I'd likely stay there again.

Great hotel, a little too far north on the strip, but not bad.

Pleasantly surprised

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Based on the mixed reviews I read before my stay, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! At check-in, I was upgraded to a suite free of charge & I was so pleased with how spacious it was! The hotel itself is very nice & the pool is amazing! The best part about the hotel is probably the location. It's really on a great part of the strip. Friends of mine were staying at a fancier hotel, Aria, but when they visited me at the Tropicana, they loved it so much they said they will be staying there the next time they visit. I would definite recommend The Tropicana for anyone visiting Vegas.

Great 21st B-day celebration!!!

Posted 22-Jul-2014
I'm a Vegas regular. I go every 3 months and have stayed at just about every hotel on and off the strip. I booked the Trop for my son's 21st B-day because of the top rated pool experience. We were treated very well by the staff. Our rooms were very nice, great views, cold air conditioning and comfy beds. It was very quiet at night in the hallways. I opened a Hilton Honors membership so I avoided the long check in line, and it was looooong. It took me 5 minutes to check in. The Hotel is smaller so it's really easy to get around. I've read complaints about the resort charges, no micro and no coffee maker. That's normal for strip hotels so get over it. The pool was awesome. My son said he had an epic B-day!!

Nice comforatable stay

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: The facility, the cleanliness, the staff are excellent, the pool is awesome.
Cons: Airconditioning in our room was marginally acceptable. It had to run continually to keep it at 69, was also kinda loud.
As always the Tropicanna is clean, bright and friendly. You stay on the strip but can get away from all the craziness and stay in a nice quite room. The Tropicanna also doesn't allow you to be bomabarded by ticket sellers in their entry ways the way other hotels do which is a nice perk.
