Okay for the price

Arrived to the hotel after 3pm and the room wasn't ready told to come back. Get to the room and the bathroom had not been cleaned! Yuck that was not pleasant!

nice hotel great location

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: nice hotel, south end of the strip
Location: south end of strip in the middle of the popular places
nice hotel, very clean, great pool that has a good atmosphere without obnoxious loud music all the time. Doesn't cater to the teeny bopper crowd instead has a nice laid back relaxed feel.

Nice hotel with no big crowds!

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: Less crowded, very clean, great pool, wonderful spa
Cons: The food. If you are paying big money for food, you should get what you pay for. The restaurants are expensive and I rarely saw people there.
Location: There is a pedway going to both MGM grand and Excalibur. It was easy to branch off from there.
My friend and I went on a moms trip and stayed here. We don't care for huge crowds and the tropicana was perfect for us. Rooms were clean and comfortable, easy enough to get to the different hotels and the pool was really nice. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches from the beach cafe and paid almost $18 for them and they were disgusting. I didn't like that restaurant but there is a subway and other places to eat at nearby hotels. We don't like fancy food so we never tried the restaurant there so can't rate them. I would definitely stay there again. We walked through almost all the hotels and this one was a lot less crowded then all of them. It was also very clean. I like that. I hate being shoulder to shoulder.

Nice hotel. Loved the pool!

Came with my 2 girlfriends. We had a blast and would defiantly come back. The pool was great, gets sun all day and they offer free towel service.

Clean hotel and no mobs of people.

Clean, nice presentation. No taxi lines like other hotels. Everyone is friendly. My only complaint is that the pool closes at 7pm. Other then that, it's affordability and comfort on the strip.

Review, what else?

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: staff was extremely attentive--kudos to management and your training program
Cons: Your white tile is needlessly time-consuming to always be cleaning, I got rid of my white rugs for the same reason.
Location: Restaurants at MGM and NY,NY were a respite from your few places to eat.
Enjoyed the pool. Are you forcing me to give you a good review? Your staff runs a good ship. I particularly liked how fast a response I got from phoning whoever at the hotel and their curtesy, and friendliness.

Great Rebirth

Posted 19-Aug-2014
I'm shocked and amazed on how many people still passed on this hotel thinking it's the old run down. Don't be too quick to judge, place was great and so was staff. All white color theme and new remodeled rooms will Stay again. Pool was nice and clean. Tips. Check ins must be ready to check in only at given time. Early check in are never allowed unless arranged

They didn't remodel enough of the bdlg....

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: The casino was bright, cheery. Not too big
Cons: Everything....customer service, food, A/C, room conditions, amenities.....We were there for a wedding. Even the chapel needed improvements
Definitely was not my first choice. We stayed here because of a wedding that we attendedwas at the hotel. First, the staff isn't the friendliest. No one smiles to greet you. No one acknowledges you as a guest.....After traveling all day only to arrive too early for check in, We were forced to wait 2 more hours before we could check in our room. although I mentioned wanting to change clothes, the desk attendant didn't offer any suggestions other than we could take our bags back outside to be held until we checked in. The bag check guy was too busy counting his money to notice us and other guests waiting to give him our bags. Once he acknowledged us, he made a point of saying that the inside and outside bell check guys don't work together. That was code for "I want my own tip." When we were finally able to check in, the line was extremely long. This just wasn't a good customer experience almost from the start. We had the bungalow room which was very old, small and the AC didn't work. I am guessing the bdlg had gone thru a remodel, but the bdlg itself is so old that I am unsure if that was a wise way to do spend the money....maybe tearing the bdlg down was a better choice? We asked to be moved but there were no rooms available. Imagine being in a Vegas and the temp is over 100 degrees? It wasn't a comfortable place to be.

It was a great time, place was clean and staff was lovely. Pool was just ok, we wanted louder music and better atmosphere. Overall it was a good place to stay.

Older Hotel but still fantastic!

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Tropicana is located on the strip near Excalibur, NYNY, and MGM casinos so the location is excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful if you needed directions somewhere, and a special shout out to Richard at the front desk who was really professional and you can tell he loves his job! The slots were fun especially Wonka, and the gift shop near the main entrance had a lot of great souvenirs at reasonable prices. Everyone who stays here gets a free cookie. The pool was great with plenty of sun chairs and towels. Our hotel room had clean white linens and the toiletries smelled like coconut, adding to the tropical theme. The room furniture had bamboo accents which was really pretty, and the carpets were clean. I would recommend it to a friend because of the value and good service and nice pool!
