Good

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Food court
Cons: pricing
Location: Eating
We reserved a Madison room and were very fortunate to get a corner room with wrap-around windows. I faced the Excalibur and the Monte Carlo. The room had two doubles and was still roomy enough to have a few suitcases laying around. We wanted to extend our stay in this room one more night but got the bait and switch from the front desk. By the time a third price increase came around, we politely declined and walked across the street to MGM for the last night.

New York New York

The hotel in general was great and there was alot to do. We barely left the grounds. The Irish Pub was a blast! Unfortunately our room was very dated and there were a lot of things broken or unusable. For these reasons we will not actually stay on the grounds again but will just visit.

Good location on strip.

Room was clean and decent size. Easy access to the strip. Had to attend a wedding at Mandalay Bay - very easy to walk over to Excalibur Hotel and take free shuttle to Mandalay. overall very comfortable place.

Nice hotel overall, especially for the price. Friendly staff. Good restaurants open late. Would highly recommend among other hotels in this price point.

I paid for a strip view "updated" Park Ave room.

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Employees are nice
Cons: Rooms need major updating. The whole hotel is very outdated.
Location: There's a lot of doo dad shopping at NY NY and plenty of places to eat. This might be somewhere to stay with older kids.
First off I paid for a strip view updated park ave room, when I got to the resort they told me that was not listed so they put me in a Madison ave room. I got a very outdated and old room in NY towers with a view of Monte Carlos parking lot and all the mechanics of the roller coaster at the hotel. The room was very old. For $200 a night I could have stayed at Mandalay Bay. The bed was comfortable and the front desk and room service were nice. Will never stay at NY, NY again and I've stayed at a lot of hotels in Vegas. .

Great location on the strip. Lots of places to eat and good variety without having to leave the hotel. Pool is extremely enjoyable. I would stay there again.

Pros: Everything was great minus the unprofessionalism of some the the hotels staff members.
Location: walked the strip, shopped at different stores , to include M&M store, Hard rock etc, saw the fountains of light, attended shows at luxor
Our stay in Vegas was outstanding, we initially stayed at New York , New York for three nights and then relocated to a resort in Henderson, all our hotel stay was great with the exception of some of the staff, i am not sure if they were just tired, but this hotel has many rude, unprofessional people working for them

My overall experience was excellent. I was impressed with the facilities and rooms. The only negative were the hours of the fitness facility. 6:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. makes it difficult for business travelers to be able to utilize it. I know that the main reason for closing is to encourage travelers to spend money in the hotel and casino, but there is a fine line between that and serving the needs of the guests.

Best prive value we had in Vegas yet

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Rooms, staff at Registration
Cons: Bell Captain - see above
We travelled with 14 persons to Vegas, stayed 2 nights at New York New York, went 15 days on a motorbike tour and came back to spend another three nights at New York New York. The rooms were comfortable and great, cleaning was reasonable good, most of the staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. 35 USD voucher could be used in Starbucks and Tom´s urban, which both was easy and perfect. BUT For storing the luggage, we could not take with us on the bikes, the bell captain requested 140 USD ! Agreed, that this not a common situation to a Vegas hotel, but we stayed before at Treasure island, MGM, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay and Wyndham Resort and NEVER payed for luggage storage. He was unpolite and cahed the 140 USD without and price list just by setting the amount on his own opinion. Sorry, but this downgraded a great experience to an average stay !
