A decent hotel near the southern part of strip.

The hotel stay was great. It was undergoing renovation to the exterior when I visited. They are making it more visible from the strip. The only downside to the hotel is wireless Internet. Why is it only limited to the first two floor of the hotel? Yet the resort fee is charged the same rate for all room regardless of level. The location of the tram from Monte Carlo to the bellagio is a great alternative to walking outside. Only downside is the walk from the Bellagio tram station to the front door/strip (about ten minute walk). Overall, the stay was fantastic except for the very very very limited wireless Internet on the first two floor.

Pros: Pool
Cons: Resort fees need to be charged for those who use them.
Location: Middle of the strip.
Very happy with the hotel an the service but I totally disagree with the resort fee for services I do not use

Love the hotel, but not as much this time

Posted 18-Apr-2014
I always stay at this hotel because I think it is a great hotel. As usual, the hotel itself did not disappoint. However, this time around I was given two rooms on the third floor and they were quite disappointing. The exterior view was absolutely horrible, as both rooms only had a view of the roof and air conditioning units. Although I did not spend a lot of time in the room, I honestly did not even want to open the curtains in the morning so that I wouldn't have to see the exterior. The views ruined what would have been an overall excellent experience at this hotel.

Desperately needs updating

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Helpful front desk, food court, pool
Cons: The rooms should be imploded.
Location: Take the tram to Bellagio to explore the north part of the Strip. Try the High Roller--it's not scary at all!
The Monte Carlo is nice if you want a smaller, less-hectic Strip hotel. The lazy river and wave pool are fun for kids, and the food court is convenient. The staff is helpful and friendly. As for the rooms, let me start with the positive. The beds are very comfortable. There, that is the only positive. The rooms are small with dingy bathrooms. I'm told the hotel has not been renovated since its opening 17 years ago. The wallpaper is peeling; there is nowhere to charge your electronic devices, there is no WiFi--only a port for a laptop, which doesn't help if you have a tablet or smartphone; there is only a tiny dresser for your clothes; the bathroom fixtures and drapes look like discards from your grandmother's house; no refrigerator or minibar; not soundproof at all.

Family getaway

Good thing we didn't come to Vegas just to stay in our hotel room. Overall, our stay was nice but the room is definitely showing it's age. Stains on bed skirt, chairs and curtains, desk draw stayed open. No mini fridge. The pool ran out of towels on a Tuesday with not a lot of people there. Was disappointed with our choice of hotel.
