“Hotel good but could use some upgrades”
The Monte Carlo was in a great location on the strip. Some of the rooms are definitely in need of new carpet wall coverings etc. They are very worn and dirty. The other drawback of the hotel that i found was if you are not a smoker the casino area is enough to choke a person. There is so much smoke it makes your eyes water and makes you feel as if you can't breath. I would suggest that the hotel upgrade their casino ventilation system.
“The Complaints.....are False”
after much reading here on expedia, i was concerned with the booking i made with Monte Carlo.....i ventured forth figuring, "oh well, you win some, you lose some". then i arrived. Contrary to the complaints here on expedia, the staff were great. all staff were friendly even when dealing with the odd issue. I had a drainage issue in my tub, and maintenance responded quickly and cleared the drain which drained fine for the remainder of my week there. There was an issue with my room being ready, and they had it resolved quickly and removed resort fees, and did so with a smile. when i called the front desk for information, they answered everything with no issues, attitudes or tones. after my experience at Monte Carlo, i have to say this, people who got attitude most likely gave attitude. I could reccomend to anyone. the room condition was good, bed super comfortable and clean. The price was great as well. no complaints, even with a couple small issues.
“Never again”
I have to come to the sun in the middle of winter or I get ill. This hotel is positioned in such a way the hotel blocks the sun from hitting the pool area. I could have gone to the luxor, hilton, or many others to sit read and get the sun, now Im reduced to walking up and down the strip to do this... The room is nothing special I expected more . The buffet is also not worth the money I didn't see one bit of red meat. not much of salads and just not worth the money . Im sadly very disappointed with the whole experience, this trip of five nights was to make sure I don't get sick in the winter and I find myself filling time not reading in the sun but walking the strip. I also came for the slow river , nope its being renovated, the reasons I pick this hotel have been reduced to nothing,
“BANGING PIPES”
Booked a seven night stay at monte carlo for a friend and his daughter. The plumbing pipes were constantly banging all hours of the day and night. Sounded like someone knocking on the walls. They are not people who complain much so they put up with this annoyance. Also one day the room was not cleaned or beds made. Will not book or recomend this hotel to anyone. Disappointed from regular visitors to las vegas
“Won't stay anywhere else now!”
My husband & I have been to Vegas many times but this was the first time at the Monte Carlo. WOW. We were thrilled with the cleanliness. You could feel and smell the freshness as soon as you entered the hotel all the way into your room. Very tastefully decorated, room very modern and comfortable with all the amenities and surprisingly very quiet. Very quick check in and they offer express check out so no line ups! Staff were very pleasant. Can't wait to go back.
“5 Night stay at Monte Carlo”
We overall enjoyed our stay at the Monte Carlo. The room was large and quiet for the most part... but the toilets could flush down a box of golf balls! The bathroom in general could use an update. Our other wish is that the hotel should stop smoking inside the hotel and casino.
“It was satisfactory ...”
Unfortunately, this stay was just satisfactory. Things that brought down my rating include several small 'let-downs'. Upon check-in at 3pm the room was not ready, it took 2 hours and 13minutes. Bed sheets had some small coloured stains and a few hairs. No coat hangars in the closet. Air conditioner or the air filter wasn't as "clean" as other hotels, lots cigarette smell. Otherwise, it's basically what a traveller can expect from any hotel on the strip. Large amounts of guests at the 'front desk', the 'let's-get-it-done-quick' service from staff, tired flooring and carpeting from massive traffic. Location of hotel is alright. The surrounding area has everything one needs, should one decide to only stay in the hotel area, during their stay. Some restaurants, convenience store, coca cola store, some shopping, some bars, you name it. Accessibility to other hotels and the north end of the strip is easy. With the monorail, strip bus, trams and walking. For canadian travellers, just remember that the american 'diamond' hotel ratings, are generally the equivalent to the one less in canadian star ratings. 4-D = 3-S
“Not impressed”
The rooms are nothing special at all-could use some updating. We had the Deluxe so it wasn't a suite or anything but I expected more. The buffet was horrible and quite expensive. No Wi-Fi available in Deluxe rooms, wire instead. Decent selection of places to eat in the hotel but avoid the buffet. I would not stay at this hotel again.
“It was okay”
Monte Carlo was okay. It wasn't totally awesome. We booked a smoke free room and they put us on a smoking floor, in a smoking room. Staff was not happy about changing our room to a non-smoking room. We had a package with The Monte Carlo and because we requested to change our room to a non-smoking room the hotel ended up cancelling our show tickets by accident...not impressed. The room was okay....floors were dirty, but the beds and bathroom was clean. Average overall rating.
