“Niggling details made experience less than super.”

While the room was really nice, and the service staff very courteous, there were several things that bothered us. 1. No change for laundry -- no change machine in the laundry room, and when we asked at the desk, were told that the manager would be back "tomorrow." Had to go to a local Bank of America to get my own quarters. Sold the extra to the hotel. 2. When the internet went down, we were told that the night manager didn't know how to reboot the system, and it would have to wait until "tomorrow." 3. The printer in the business office (a laser) was out of ink, so I couldn't preprint boarding passes for our flight. Needless to say, they said they would get a new cartridge "tomorrow": 4. When I asked for a comment card at the desk, they didn't have one. The manager went to housekeeping, and they didn't have any either! This says more about the hotel's general manager than the hotel. The room was fine, the hotel clean, the people courteous, and the breakfast selection sparse but good. The general manager's job is to make sure that the little things get done, too, and that didn't happen here. You shouldn't have to worry about things like quarters, print cartridges, and internet connectivity while on vacation.

“Pretty Good Deal for the Money”

I like to stay at LaQuinta because it has a full kitchen. This helps me control calorie intake and cash outlay. I was disappointed in the exercise room, which has no free weights, only treadmill, stair stepper and bike. Luckily, I had packed my Dyna Band. The mattress in our room was a bit too soft for my taste, the iron didn't heat properly and one day we had no maid service (didn't need new towels or linens but would have liked to have had the bed made when we returned that night.). In general, however, our stay was nice. Note: I got the Expedia representative to speak to the hotel representative before I book and they waived the "extra person" fee.

“Stay Here!”

The hotel staff was friendly and professional. I really appreciated the fast check out. I merely returned the room electronic key and I was on my way! The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I certainly utilized the full size frig and kitchenette counter space. Among the complimentary breakfast choices were hard boiled eggs, whole wheat bread and fruit. I recommend the La Quinta Inn in Summerlin.

“Adequate”

If you're looking to stay in the Summerlin area, as opposed to downtown Las Vegas, this is an inexpensive option. The rooms are okay. Our bed was sagging in the middle. Breakfast is included, but it is pretty rudimentary. If you like a simple breakfast (coffee, tea, bagel, make-your-own-waffle, juice, cereal) then you're set. The street borders a residential area and is near a library and small museum. A good restaurant (Firefly?) is next door (roughly) and there are many strip malls. All-in-all, it is adequate but excels in nothing and the only real negative was our bed.

“Great Value”

The hotel looked a bit dated, but the location was good and the price was great. If you are looking to save a buck and stay in Summerlin, check it out. The room is nothing to write home about, but you will have some extra coin in your pocket in the end.
