Under a vault of two million light bulbs and employing a 550,000-watt sound system, a four-block pedestrians-only stretch of downtown Las Vegas called Fremont Street Experience presents periodic sound-and-light shows from dusk to midnight. Other day-and-night entertainment on the street includes live music, classic-car displays, and holiday festivals. Like nine other downtown casino hotels, this resort opens directly onto Fremont Street, creating a lively flow of pedestrian traffic.

In addition, the Golden Nugget offers a 10-table smoke-free poker room with daily Texas Hold'em tournaments.

“Great rooms & great service! Excellent restaurants! Great pool, but crowded!”
We were really impressed with our rooms, with the casino, with the restaurants, and with the pool area and it's aquarium and water slide. Unfortunately, though we were there on a Monday & Tuesday, you had to get to the pool at 10:00 AM in order to get a lounge chair and space for your towel and book. Both our daughter and her boyfriend, and me and my husband had to share two lounge chairs, and alternate going into the pool. Because there were so many people there, and no monitoring of how many in the area, whether people just left and left there towels on their chairs, etc. I was very disappointed once to get our bathing suits on and walk to the pool only to find no seats available, then have to go back and change. There were lots of children there, which was surprising to me also. I thought it was advertised as more of an adult casino and resort. The Italian restaurant was excellent. Loved there seafood and pasta dish. Fresh food, excellent service, would have loved to have saved room for their scrumptious-looking desserts! The buffet available was extensive--too bad my daughter's boyfriend wasn't feeling too well after a root canal, couple days before--he could have done some damage here otherwise!
“Good Hotel in Freemong Street Area.”
Clean. Good conditon. Good location (near the RV park where my brother stays). Couple casino close. My experience was all good with two excecptions: Food was too expensive. Had to go to the California Club for a good meal and good price. I had one gentlemen at the casino table who really should not be in a customer service line of business. Because if his attitude I was forced to move over to the 10$ table. That was kinda fun, new expericence for the tight budgeted me. ha ha
“Excellent Downtown option at Vegas”
This is by far the best, cleanest, well-run hotel in downtown Las Vegas and makes staying in downtown an excellent alternative to the Strip.
“Very impressed”
Very impressed
“"Won't stay anywhere else"”
Best hotel i have ever stayed at in Vegas Great place to spend a girls weekend hotel was much smaller than the strip making it easier to find each other. Italian restaurant in the hotel was perfect amazing food great service and tasty wine, everyone should go here to try it! Hotel Spa very relaxing, clean, and friendly. I have been to Vegas a quite a few times at different hotels but i must say this is the best place so far. 'SUPURB"
“Very comfortable, large modern room”
Many restaurants in and around the hotel. Nice room with very comfortable bedding. Quiet!
“Love the nugget, stay there all the time!”
Cant beat it. Beautiful place, well maintained, love the new rush tower, the new aquarium at the bar is cool. Cant beat partying on fremont.
“The place to stay in downtown Vegas”
Next time we travel it will be on a non-stop flight and will pick up a rent car at the airport, everythig else about the trip was great.
“Downtown`s Best Hotel!”
I would have to say that the Glden Nugget is the best hotel in downtown Las Vegas also it is a lot cheaper downtown then on the strip.
“Our first stay in downtown Las Vegas - we'll do this again”
My wife and I have been going to Las Vegas at least once a year for almost 10 years. We've stayed at several hotels on the Strip. This was our first stay at a downtown hotel. We were worried about staying downtown because it *does* sort of close down after 1am or 2am, and... well, it isn't the Strip. But we really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Nugget! Service and amenities there were great. The room and bed were comfortable. The pool was fantastic! The coffee shop was very, very good. We took a cab when we wanted to hit the Strip and that was fine. We bookended our vacation with a short stay at the Golden Nugget, a few days elsewhere, and then came back to stay at a hotel on the Strip. As we walked the Strip at the end of our vacation, watching drunk 20-somethings whooping it up and literally falling over in the street. my wife and I both had the same thought: We've "done" the Strip. It was fun, but we felt more at ease downtown. The gaming is cheaper. The crowd is less rowdy. There's live bands on Fremont street. We definitely want to visit the Strip - it's where all the action is! But taking a cab to the Strip and walking around until we're ready to cab back downtown worked great for us. We might go back and stay on the Strip again. But we'll be coming back to stay at the Golden Nugget for sure.
