“Great experience!”
Our room had been recently renovated. We found it to be really nice and comfortable. Even though it has been up-dated, it still has kept the charm of the older facility that it is. I can't wait until the renovation is completed, as everything that has been done so far is really great!
“Great Place to stay”
I readed a few of the reviews that said that this Hotel was not good. My wife and I found this Hotel very clean, very helpfull. If you like a Hotel that is down town were the action is, this is the place to stay. Clean rooms, I like the older still of the Hotel. Doors to the rooms are cool. It makes me think who has stayed there. My bet is if you stay at the Golden Gate you will be happy you did. Great price, great food, great service. Free parking, and if you like to know were something is on your car just as the parking lot person. I have had my car for 5 years, and never know there was a botton in my car to open the truck. Thank GG I'll be back. Keep up the great work.
“Vegas on a budget!”
If you're looking for a cheap, clean place to stay in Vegas, the Golden gate is a great option. The rooms were recently remodeled and are decorated nicely! The beds are comfy pillow top! If you don't need a lot of room, this is a fabulous place. Tiny rooms (reminded me of hotels in Europe), but they are clean. The windows actually open, and it wasn't too noisy even though it's right on Fremont street. We will definitely stay there again!
“Surpassed my expectation!”
The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Very charming. Made me feel like I was a part of "Old Hollywood". Really charming rooms. Night life was exciting & entertaining.
“Best Secret in Vegas”
We stayed at this hotel because we booked a really good promotional rate. We were not expecting a lot, but we were definitely surprised. The rooms were recently renovated and have a boutique feel to them. They also feature flat panel TVs and iPod compatible alarm clocks. The staff members were super friendly and check-in was quick and easy. We booked two rooms and in one of the rooms the air conditioning stopped working; we mentioned it to the front desk when we went out for breakfast and it was fixed by the time we returned. This property is also the only place in Vegas that seems to care about its history, so it is a good place for a little nostalgia.
“Right on freemont experience, very historic, clean and convenient”
I loved the vibe of freemont, and The Golden Gate is the most historic building in town, being the first hotel constructed in Vegas. The rooms are small(they use the original rooms from 1906), but neat and clean. I will stay there every time I go to Vegas on my own dollar. The cafe had good food, the service was great!
“Golden Gate next time I am in Vegas I am looking you up”
I asked the hotel for next to the elevator and they did. Anything I asked they tried to do for me. Very nice service. The room was clean and remodeled. I could say the bathroom I would want a little bit cleaner, and the tv only has 5 stations of nothing. (even though flat screen tvs) But you are in vegas and for the price for a room I would keep going back can not pass this hotel up.
“WHAT A DEAL”
This hotel has been remodled from the floor up!!!! What a graet job!! Very art deco, a real treat, but with keeping the old charm and cozy-ness.
“awesome stay”
small room but for $ you cant beat it. room was updated and very clean, good service, fun and helpful dealers and the shrimp cocktail and bay city dinner cant be beat for a quick snack or late night meal.
“Interesting”
Clean comfortable room, bed was like new, nice big tub with a shower, big screen TV, all in a historic setting complete with heavy real wood doors with period hardware (except for modern, heavy duty, high tech lockset). Much more interesting than the typical cookie cutter hotel rooms on the strip, and be sure to check out the Bayside Diner, the Prime Rib was excellent.
