“Satisfactory experience”

The room was spacious and clean. As the other reviews mention, the furniture is antiquated but it was still in good shape and there were no problems. The hotel staff was helpful and room service was prompt.

“Vegas Trip 2”

The service was great, very friendly employees, the hotel was located within walking distance of everything, it was very clean and neat. We had an incredible time.

“Excellent for the price”

My girlfriend and I spent six days in Vegas and she chose this hotel based on price, facilities and proximity to the strip (about 3 blocks, straight up Las Vegas Boulevard). When I booked I payed a little extra for a slightly larger room and to have a room in the tower rather than directly above the casino. It was a very large room, well maintained but unfortunately lacking a mini-bar. The hotel itself has several places to eat with good choice and pleasant staff. The casion is excellent though perhaps not quite so glamorous as those on the strip. All in all a good hotel that I would be happy to stay in again - apart from the location!

“A downtown gem in hiding”

I stayed in a tower room due to other reviews here, and for a four night stay including Fri & Sat it was very reasonable. Other than the first front desk person initially writing the wrong room number on my room key pouch, check in was a breeze. The room, a double, was very roomy and spacious with an additional sitting area by the window. Oddly the bathtub had a raised bottom to where my head was close to the roof and definitely above the angle of the showerhead, I am only 5'8" so those taller might have an issue here. My major gripe would be with parking, the main garage connected to the hotel did not have many parking spaces for larger vehicles, I drive a full size pickup and it was a tight fit even in the second garage across the street. If your vehicle is over 7ft tall you better let the valet park it in the open lot. Hit a nice little jackpot while gambling there which more than paid for the whole stay. Jackpot or not I would stay again and recommend this hotel to travelers.

“Nice property”

Lots to like. Best "fun book" I have seen in Vegas. Great twofer special on martini happy hour. Really great prime rib special in the coffee shop, (use the coupon in the fun book)! Good slot and table action with low min. A short walk from the end of Freemont proper, but they have a nice walkway/private drive with security cameras everywhere.

“Best downtown Las Vegas accommodation”

The Tower rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The windows open to give fresh air. The in-house resturant has excellent food - a little pricey. We enjoyed our stay.

“Best For The Money”

My sister and I stayed at the EL Cortez in November. We had A great time. Access to every thing is easy. We stayed in the Tower Rooms. The only problem we had was getting a waitress for drinks when we were gambling and at Kitys cafe the food was not very good, but down town you have alot of places to eat in walking distance.
