"Nice hotel close to the beach and restaurants"
Only stayed one night but that was enough to notice what a great staff they have. All of them were very friendly and the food was very good. Location is great cause its right in front of the beach and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The hotel has its own restaurant which is very good and prices are similar than the restaurants nearby. I wish the pool would be a little heated, cause it was cold when i was there. The room was very comfortable and all areas of the hotel were very clean. I really enjoyed my stay.

"Perfect hotel in a truly perfect setting"
My sister and I stayed at Costarena for two nights and loved it so much that we extended our stay for another two nights. It's the perfect balance of being small enough to feel intimate but big enough to afford privacy. I simply cannot say enough good things about the hotel - my absolute favorite spot in what is newly my favorite place to visit.

"Nice beach hotel"
Hotel set on a beautiful palmed beach -- Playa Bonita. There's a surf school nearby but the surf wasn't large and swimming seemed very safe. Large lawn for lounging. You can walk the beach in both directions or take the paved path that parallels it. When we were there (late January), it was uncrowded. The hotel has a very nice outdoor restaurant covered with a thatched roof. Food is highly regarded but we were both under the weather during our one night and couldn't partake. Still, there were quite a few customers, some who seemed to have walked from nearby hotels. Our room was fine and the king bed was very comfortable. If you're considering a stay on Playa Bonita, the main thing to keep in mind is that the only facilities nearby are other hotels and a few restaurants. There are no shops, convenience stores, or ATMs. A taxi to Las Terrenas is easy to arrange but costs $15 US one way. If you're brave (we weren't), you can hire a ride on the back of a motorbike for much less. The hotel will arrange excursions to nearby attractions if you tire of Playa Bonita.

"Fully equipped villa apartments wits pool & beach"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Balcones has everything one needs: very comfortable apartments with spacious "balconies", long beach, several pools, great beach bars and restaurant. Staff is incredibly friendly. It was nice to be close to town (Las Terrenas) to access other restaurants but far enough away to enjoy some tranquility. We did two excursions, one to the waterfalls in El Limon and the other touring the mountains and beaches near El Limon by ATV. Highly recommend both. Hope to be back.

"Wonderful boutique hotel in garden near beach"
From the moment you enter the magical garden of La tortuga, the melodies of tiny singing frogs and crickets greet you. Director Isabelle is a nurturing presence throughout your stay, as well as an exceptionally excellent cuisine chef. Meals at La Tortuga are succulent, the best I have ever had apart from top big city chef restaurants--but for 1/3 of their prices. Follow Isabelle's daily dish recommendations: she knows exactly which is the freshest and most delicious. Overall my experience at La Tortuga was unparalleled, in service, personalized attention (we asked for a breakfast mangu and fried egg dish as well as a sancocho for dinner, and got them in a flash), beautiful natural setting in midst of trees and flowers, proximity to beach, quiet and secluded personal down time, access to many tour guides for various explorations/day trips. Thank you Isabelle and Mauricio for an exceptional stay! :-)

The entire experience was amazing. I recommend renting a car...we didn't realize it was $200 one way from airport to hotel.
