I can not recommend this hotel. With 15+ yrs in hotel mgmt and having worked in some of the best national and international hotels, this hotel simply does not deserve a 4 star rating. I have paid in advance for the stay, would have checked out the first day of my stay. The hotel location and previous name, has a lot of potential, but it is completely run down and poorly managed. The hotel lobby is as cold as the staff, and was not decorated well or at all for the holidays. It seems that there is a huge lack of overall care for the hotel and guests, service and quality provided. Front desk was understaffed and snobby, not friendly at all. The training of staff for catering or being friendly to guests is entirely missing. I slipped and fell in the bathtub/shower on my first day, reported the incident to the front desk and asked for a meeting with the "hotel director". It was completely ignored. I asked if they would have a bath mat so the tub is not as slippery, and was told that they don't have one. I asked if they would have facial towels, small square facial towels, and was told that the "director" mentioned such towels would only be provided in 5 star hotels. It seems like the "director" needs to start traveling. Went and bought a bath mat and facial towels at Karstadt for 20 Euros. The blond lady at the reception should not be in any kind of hotel or front desk capacity. Not sure who she thinks she is, but being snooty or nasty to a guest is simply unacceptable. 0 stars!
