The Hotel is advertised as a spa yet when we arrived on the Saturday there was a wedding in full swing which took over the hotel and grounds making it difficult to avoid guests and children. We were advised that this would be going on till the early hours. Also we were unable to book any treatment or enjoy the facilities as none were available as pre booked or no staff available. There was no where else to go in the hotel for relaxation or entertainment. After 6 hours of feeling hopelessly bored and trying to avoid the noisy wedding guests we gave up and decided to go home. THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE TO DO!!!! Why are potential guests not warned about weddings or facilities pre booked. They could change their weekend then to actually attend the Spa Facilities that Barton Moor professes to offer. I was very disappointed and upset that no refund partial or otherwise was offered as given the horrible experience we had with no alternatives available Plus if you charge £154 for an “executive room” make sure the view from the window does not overlook the extractor fans and vents of the whole of the kitchen roof and fire escape. Terrible view for the money paid. I will NOT be recommending Barton Moor!!!!!

The reason for the low review is we was in room 216 and all night long we could hear the elevator going up and down it’s really loud in this room. The steam room and sauna were great but the pool was really cold. Other than these 2 points our stay was great I would stay again but not in a room near the elevator

Love this hotel. Have been coming for years for work. Staff always friendly and helpful, food is fantastic and the rooms are comfortable. A little more attention to detail with room cleaning would make it a 5 star review

If you don't actually have a reason to go to Barton - find one! This hotel is fabulous. A real surprise. Great staff, comfortable warm room with excellent bed & bedlinen. Superb restaurant, surprisingly good wine list. Proper secure parking. Sensibly priced. Was totally surprised.

Excellent modern hotel
A large hotel that is nicely furnished and very clean. A lot looks very new. The bedroom was very clean but a little small, but more than adequate for me and my suitcase. There was free tea, coffee and bottled water available.The bathroom was compact but very new and modern, also extremely clean. The leisure facilities were very modern with a pool, sauna and steam room. It all looks brand new. There are lockers but not male/female locker rooms, it's unisex with individual locking changing and shower cubicles. I didn't try the other facilities. The pool due to its shape is difficult to swim lengths if there are more than a handful of others in at the same time, but the facilities are beautifully laid out and again clean to an amazing degree. Unfortunately stayed on a Sunday when only a cutdown set menu was available, but the meal was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent, a full three course meal for one person with wine for under £30 was good value. My stay on Sunday night was excellent. I will definitely consider this hotel again if in the area.

Average - up and down!
Stayed in the gatehouse family room , only problem its on the road and very noisy!!! Didn't get much sleep! Reception helpful , pool area well kept. Breakfast at 9am , everything gone or freezing cold ! Staff nowhere to be seen!

Hotel accommodation very nice. Good room, comfortable and clean with a small, but serviceable bathroom. Nice touches with coffee and tea dispensers. Less impressive was the dining, we only had breakfast which was poorly run on both days. Sunday was done on a cook to order basis but there was no menu, eventually food sorted but coffee and tea came with no cups and saucers or milk, toast didn’t appear at all, the non cooked items were in a buffet which was short on content and variety. Mondays cooked buffet was available but with some items also available to order, once again no idea what as no menu. Poor management, training and supervision clearly needs to be tackled.

2nd stay here. Lovely staff and spotlessly clean. Only complaint was on 1st visit waiter asked us for a tip , when we ignored him he muttered you always leave something at reception. I will if I want to but not if someone asks for one. He was not there on this visit.

This hotel is a bit out of the way of major areas, but good for passing as it’s on a main road. Food was very good on site, although very expensive. Room was a king room but had two single pushed together, a gripe of mine. Queried and was told it was because I’d booked through hotels.com and to call direct next time and they would get me a king

Lovely clean room. Comfy bed and no noise from corridors at all. Food was very good but restaurant was very quiet in the evening so lacked atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and service was good.
