Amazing stay for family
Amazing communication with host! The home is just as the pictures describe. We didn't want to stay in a crowded and busy hotel so this property provided us with an intimate place for my family. Fiancé and I traveled with grandpa and grandma, a 4yo and a 7yo. We picked the location because is halfway between Cusco and Ollantaytambo train station for our trip to Machu Picchu. The kids loved playing outside and splashing in the pool. Sharme, the chef, made our stay hassle-free. We are already planning our return to this property.

All I can say is that this was one of the most wonderful places we've ever stayed! Gustavo was so kind and helpful. He would stop at nothing to make sure everything was perfect for us, and it was! Sharme is a wonderful cook and a lovely person. Lalo was outstanding as our driver/guide. The house is even more beautiful than the gorgeous pictures. You won't find a better place. We can't wait to go back!

This was a truly spectacular villa and the pictures don’t do it justice. Gustavo was incredibly responsive with lots of great stories and full of cheer, Lalo was a great driver and tour guide and became a good friend, Charmaine was a terrific cook and housekeeper and Patti was an awesome masseuse. I give this my highest recommendation and hope to get back one day soon to spend some more time at the Villa. Steve

Phenomenal property
Our only regret was that we didn’t rent it longer and that we had our days overly packed to the point we didn’t get to just stay there and soak it up for at least a day or two. Will remedy that if we make it back this way again: Gustavo is the best host ever as he responds to any questions or concerns immediately and helps with the solution. The meals were fantastic and Lalo drove us everywhere we asked and even foresaw half the things we didn’t know we wanted or needed making life simple. Stay here. :)

Amazing Stay in Lamay
The house and grounds are wonderful. We were there in the wintertime, so we didn’t get to enjoy the pool, but it looks nice. There are so many lovely spots to relax around the grounds, either solo or conversation nooks, and most with the sounds of a nearby fountain or the beautiful stream that runs close to the house. Gustavo answered any questions that I had so promptly and he is a friendly and gracious host who greeted us and introduced us to the property. He also arranged transportation for us and Lalo took excellent care of is from Pisac to Lamay and then from Lamay to Cusco. The breakfast that was included was excellently prepared by Sharme — fresh strawberry juice was delicious! We rejoined the rest of our family in Cusco just raving about this house and grounds!

Stunning secluded property and one of a kind experience!
We absolutely loved our experience staying here! Gustavo was extremely nice, communicative and and quick at responding to all of my messages! He gave us so much information and was very helpful in planning our stay! We met him at the property and he is a really funny and charismatic person! The house was absolutely beautiful and the showers were one of a kind! We paid extra to use the hot tub, which was just what we needed after days of hiking. He also organized an amazing horseback riding tour for us as well! I would not hesitate to recommend Gustavo or his place to anyone who wants a beautiful getaway in Peru!

Incredible Property and Amazing People
My family and I spent an amazing week at Cusco Villas - and the experience was truly unforgettable. The property is even more unbelievable in-person than in the pictures. Gustavo has created a magical, tranquil oasis in the Sacred Valley. The sprawling property consists of a luxurious home surrounded by your very own botanical garden. There really are just too many details to describe - the sounds of the stream that winds alongside the property, the hidden alcoves where you can sit in quiet reflection, the multiple water features, the fireplaces, the incredible showers... I could go on and on. Aside from the stunning property, what truly made this vacation so memorable was the time that we spent with the incredible people at Cusco Villas. Gustavo was a superb host with a magnetic personality - answering questions months prior to our arrival, taking time to review my trip itinerary, making invaluable suggestions, and always a text message away. He warmly greeted us when we arrived at Cusco Villas, giving us a tour of his property, and he was there to see us off on our last day. He regaled us with fascinating stories and he quickly felt like an old friend. Sharme - the multi-talented house manager / executive chef - was always available to fulfill any request, big or small. She greeted us each morning with a delicious breakfast. Her skills in the kitchen were spectacular and she would prepare the most amazing meals - among the best we had on our entire trip. From homemade stuffed-crust pizzas to lomo saltado - each meal was an inviting, multi-course experience filled with authentic Peruvian flavors. Lalo, our driver/guide extraordinaire, was the person with whom we spent the most time - and he became a member of our family during our trip. From pick-up to drop-off at the airport, Lalo was with us every day. He drove us to all of the sights, making fantastic itinerary suggestions based on how much or how little we wanted to do in the day. His wealth of local knowledge, kindness, and authenticity made our time with him unforgettable. We had the wonderful privilege of having Christmas Eve dinner with him, his wife, and their two wonderful children - an experience I will always cherish & remember. Lalo taught us about the rich history of the Sacred Valley, the Quechua people, and his hometown of Pisac. I'm truly grateful for his friendship. Thank you Gustavo, Sharme, & Lalo for making our family vacation such an unforgettable experience!

A mountain hideaway.
We spent two weeks at Cusco Villas. We rode horses, hiked into the village of Lamay, ate cuy, used all the showers -- you have to go there to understand :-) -- took the train to Machu Picchu, was driven by Lalo to all the local archeological sites, and had wonderful breakfasts and dinners (plus one Peruvian cooking lesson) by Sharme. Many of our excursions were arranged by our superhost. But the best part of Cusco Villas is the distance from all the noise and chaos of life. Unplugged (by choice), we relaxed in the evenings by playing chess together – something we’ve never done but appreciated so much we bought a chess set as soon as we got home. We spent many of our days simply enjoying the house and the gardens, watching the fish, the birds, and the skunk cows, and stargazing at night.

Family trip to Cusco Villas ...
We just returned from our trip to Peru, and the highlight of our trip was our stay at Cusco Villas. From the beginning, I was impressed with Gustavo's quick response and his ability to anticipate our every need. When we arrived, we had a driver ( Lalo) waiting for us at the airport. He took care of our luggage and gave us a wonderful tour on our way to the house. Arriving at the house, Gustavo ( the owner) was waiting to welcome us and give us a tour of the house. The house is even more breathtaking than the photos from the website. The photos truly do not do it justice. Charme not only was an incredible cook, but she also made sure to take care of every last detail and every one of our needs during our stay. She asked what food we liked, and made sure to prepare meals that my husband and I and the kids would love. Sharme also coordinated with Lalo (the driver/tour Guide) any tours or transportation needs we had, as well as helping us plan an afternoon of horseback riding for me and the kids which made everything completely stress-free. Everyone truly made sure that we felt at home and went above and beyond. I highly recommend Cusco Villas as it is truly a beautiful and memorable place. Gustavo and his staff were incredible — I would definitely return in the future.

Extraordinarily home!
We just loved our week at Gustavo’s home. It is nothing short of spectacular- the home is warm and inviting with unbelievable touches in every room. But our trip was really complete with the addition of Sharme and Lady. These two ladies really made the experience - they worked so hard to make sure our stay was perfect. Can’t wait to come back!

Paradise in Peru !
The villa certainly lived up to all of our expectations ( after reading lots of other reviews). Gustavo greeted us and was extremely thorough Showing us the ropes of the property. The house and grounds are lovely . The bathrooms are out of this world! Sharme , the housekeeper was terrific, she prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners, as well as taking care of all the drivers, masseuses ( exc.) , horseback riding... We are a a family of six adults , and as much as we love to be together the house allowed individual space. The only drawback IMO is the House is a distance from almost everything with the exception of Pisac, a pretty town with restaurants , ruins and a market. We took Gustavo’s advice and did not rent a car and are we ever glad👍 The drivers were excellent. All In all we had a fabulous week in Peru !

The most amazing home in the Sacred Valley
Words cannot describe the perfect vacation home that Gustavo has created at Cusco Villas. From the moment we passed through the gates, we knew that we were in a very special place. The grounds are filled with beautiful gardens, ponds and sitting areas highlighting the spectacular mountain views. The home itself brings nature indoors with natural stone showers and beautiful wood floors and ceilings with windows everywhere offering views at every turn. Sharme is absolutely amazing, providing anything and everything we could possibly need while we were there, from arranging our transportation to the many wonderful local sights that Cusco has to offer, to creating the most incredible meals we have ever experienced. Gustavo has thought of everything. This is by far the best vacation experience we have ever had! We would highly recommend this home to anyone considering visiting the Cusco area, and we truly hope to be back again!

Perfect Location for touring the Sacred Valley
We stayed in this lovely home for a week. For an additional fee, you may hire a car and driver making traveling around Peru easy and accessible. The grounds were beautiful as well. A hot tub is available for an additional fee but we chose not to use it. Instead, we spent chilly evenings inside, around the warmth of the fireplace. While we found good restaurants near, we ended up eating most meals at home. The cook provided (additional fee) made the best meals in all of Peru!

We had a great time!
My husband and I spent 4 nights at Gustavo's villa in the Sacred Valley. We had a lovely and relaxing time. We took advantage of all of the amenities that the villa had to offer and especially enjoyed Sharme's cooking. We even took a cooking class from Sharme and plan to recreate some of her specialties soon. There was supposed to be another couple traveling with us and had to cancel at the last minute because of a family emergency. This villa is large for just 2 people. I would recommend it for a group. We loved the Sacred Valley and the little town of Lamay was so quaint and authentic. A great location. I would definitely stay here again if we return to the Sacred Valley.

A Paradise Oasis
We were lucky enough to rent this lovely home for 4 days last week when we traveled to Peru. What a fun place! Full of personality and one of a kind finishings- the grounds were lush and well manicured with many surprise bonuses (who knew the trout pond was so therapeutic) - very large too. Great to wander around and explore. Two very sweet German Shepherds to accompany you. We had such a great time. Gustavo (owner) met us there on arrival and showed us around. Sharme, the cook made us almost every meal (meals at request) and were always delicious. Even though we didn't know what was on the menu- the surprise was fun too. I'm sure you could ask/request certain foods but we were given popular Peruvian dishes. We loved that. There is a driver available to take you wherever you want to go. Spectacular Property
What a way to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday in the Sacred Valley. The accomadations were fabulous. The chef, masseuse, and driver are highly recommended. Could not get better service from the finest 5 star hotel. Plan your stay at this property and you will not be disappointed. P.S. - Make sure you enjoy a game of Sapo in the back,yard. An absolute fabulous place to base out of when exploring Peru
We called Cusco Villas "The Compound" because it has so much going going for it. A wonderful babbling stream and acreage with beautiful landscape and seating areas. It's nestled in the mountains right outside of Lamay. They have two beautiful german shepards, Cindy and Pepper. A perfect place to base out of to explore much of the Inca trail. I recommend that you purchase the park pass for 130 soles. It gets you into many of the ruins in the Cusco area. Gustava is at your beckoning call 24/7. My wife and I came from the Galapagos islands and my luggage didn't make it. If it wasn't for Gus taking control of the situation I would have never gotten my luggage. There was also a strike for two days preventing people from getting to Machu Picchu. With Gus' help and our wonderful driver Lalo we were able to successfully get to the train without mishap. The staff is wonderful. Sharma's cooking was superb. She cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for us when we were at the compound. Lalo our driver for the week was always prompt and new how to get to everything we wanted to see and do. If we had a bit of extra time he would have great suggestions regarding something we should do. I highly recommend Cusco Villas for a place to base out of and explore Peru.

This home is beautiful, maintained very well, and staffed with a wonderful chef who takes care of every need you may have. Gustavo is incredibly attentive, and either he or Char are available to recommend or arrange for a range of experiences. If you want the best experience available in the Sacred Valley this is the place to be.

Elegant, beautiful and comfortable.
We loved this 5 star home. Very comfortable for a family if 5. Wonderful staff and great host. Would highly recommend this home for a leisure stay and to enjoy nature. Had a meal prepared and the home grown trout was fantastic. Also did the horseback riding and it was well worth it for the million dollar views. We stayed at several ones in the area and this was by far the best.

Amazing Property! Amazing Location! Amazing people!
This is the most amazing property for a vacation. I would give it six stars if I could. The house itself is large and beautifully furnished, with plenty of room for our family of six. There is a sauna, huge fireplace, comfortable beds, excellent wifi, and a large living room to gather and relax. Outside the house is even better! The property is covered in flowers, thousands of them! There are about ten little nooks to sit and enjoy the views, which are fantastic. And a number of waterfalls, a natural swimming pool, several ponds with fish, and two sweet german shepherds to accompany you on strolls around the incredible gardens. There is a nice stream running down one side of the property as well. The house is in the perfect location outside of Lamay. It is half way between Cusco and Machu Picchu, a short drive to the Pisac market, Maras salt pools, and the Moray ruins, all of which are worth seeing! Best of all are the help. Sharme is the caretaker, cook, maid, etc. She is amazing! Tell her what you need and it is done. Louis is the driver. He is always on time and helpful. Nesto is the professionally trained chef. He cooks unbelievable dinners every night. And Gustavo the owner is very responsive to any request. We did horseback riding, right from the property, then had massages at the house. Overall, this was the best vacation of my life, and I travel for a living! Thanks to all of these wonderful people for making our stay so memorable!!! KB

Stunning villa in paradise!
We spent four nights in this lovely villa with our two sons, 13 and 15, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We were busy traveling in Rio and then Machu Picchu, and we were all looking forward to relaxing at the end of our trip. Gustavo was a pleasure to work with and he responded immediately to every email and offered great suggestions as we planned our visit...he's comparable to a Four Seasons concierge! Gustavo's staff were also a pleasure to work with - Lalo, our driver, was prompt, courteous, and offered great suggestions - Sharme, a top notch chef, made the most delicious dinners every night and even made her dough from scratch for pizza that we enjoyed for lunch one afternoon. We had time to just relax, play card games, etc., but we were also close to Pisac and even went white water rafting one day. The villa is even more beautiful in person and there are so many cozy areas to relax in the perfectly manicured gardens that we didn't even have time to enjoy all of them! Treat yourself and spend time in this villa...you'll love it!

Exquisite Experience
The photos of Gustavo's home are almost too beautiful to believe. However, they don't do justice to the experience of being on his property. My husband and I made this home our base camp during a two-week trip to the Sacred Valley, including a 4 day hike on the Inca Trail. Gustavo is probably THE most responsive man on the planet. He answers every email, he's meticulous in giving appropriate information and he is dedicated to his guests feeling welcome and comfortable. He is "hospitality" personified. We were greeted at the airport by his driver, Lalo, and immediately brought back to this paradise, where Sharme, Gustavo's chef, had prepared an extraordinary dinner for us. And so set the tone for every single day. The property itself is impossible to describe. This area has a quality of light that I've never seen before; likely a result of the altitude and equator location and clear air. So everything is luminous and shimmery, which adds to the "other world" quality of this location. Gustavo's property is landscaped to enhance its almost Rivendell qualities, including little sitting areas and hamlets by the river (which you hear all the time), or shady spots by little ponds, and a hammock for every occasion. There is no reason to stay inside - but if the rains hit or another reason to do so, every room enhances the outdoors (large windows and other architectural features). We loved waking up and stoking a fire in the hearth and listening to the river and birds. We had Sharme cook 3 meals a day for us during the days we were there and her presence was never obtrusive, but more than that, her cooking truly is of professional quality - The time and attention she spent in delighting us was beyond impressive. We fell so in love with the region and the people, we are hoping to move there one day - it was truly a heaven on earth.
