The second-most popular beach on Ko Samui, southeast-facing Lamai Beach is a good alternative to Chaweng Beach if you’re looking for a stretch of sand just off the main drag. “Grandmother” and “Grandfather” Rocks on the south end of the beach were carved by wind and rain into creative shapes, and within their crevasses are inviting turquoise bathing pools.
