This is a very nice hotel, conveniently located and with a heated, indoor pool.

“pick of the litter”

Near Wauconda, where close relatives live, there are very few motels. I used to stay at the Barrington Day's Inn--an aging facility overpriced for its amenities. This Holiday Inn Express in Lake Zurich is conveniently located. It's clean; the staff are welcoming; it offers a decent breakfast; there's a Starbuck's across the parking lot; it's quiet; and more. It's not well-marked, though, being set back from Rand Road and without a noticeable sign out front. It has no restaurant, though there are plenty in easy driving range. It could be less expensive, but it's virtually the only game in town.

“Lake Zurich's best and only hotel”

Like all Holiday Inns -- very nice and clean only because it's brand-new and in operation less than one year. Let's hope they can keep it up.

“Clean - Relaxing - Great Staff - Will be back”

My night at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lake Zurich-Barrington was terrific! My room was ready for me at the front desk. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. After a long day at a work shop, I was able to relax and enjoy my evening. Will I stay again when in the area - YES!!!

“Pretty Decent Place”

I had never stayed at the Holiday Inn Express brand before, but was very impressed. I was in the area for business for 4 nights and just wanted a clean quite place to rest and sleep after work. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed with three sheets. The hotel had reliable High Speed Wireless Internet and Flat Panel TVs with a lot of channels. Didn't use the exercise room or the pool, but appeared to be more than acceptable. The hot breakfast wasn't superb in the morning, but for a free breakfast, its ain't bad. Juices, muffins and cereals are available too. Overall, this is not a 5 star hotel, but for the price and the area, I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay.

“Good Hotel”

The Hotel is not visible from the road as it sits behind other businesses. We had trouble finding it and finally had to call the hotel to find out exactly where it was. They told us to look for a certain business and turn there and as you drive past it you will see the hotel. For our business in Barrington it was a perfect location. When we come back we will stay here again now that we know where it is!

“ask for a room off the street”

I stay here from time to time visiting one of the offices in my company. The only reason I downgraded the comfort is because there is no way to close your curtains to the streetlights outside. As a result, it was difficult for me to fall asleep and stay asleep. Going forward, I'm asking for a room off the street, or will bring a safety pin to pin the curtains down!
