Owner Gillian was an excellent host. Did our transfers from/to NP Station. Took us up to Whakapapa to Gondola on our day of arrival. Room was lovely. We had a spacious 2 bed apartment and kitchen. Common kitchen and lounge facilities (while we waited for the train) were excellent.

There was nothing "basic" about this lovely property! Very comfortable rooms with all the bells and whistles! Staff were very friendly. Great place to stay!

The staff were very knowledgeable about the Tongiro Alpine Crossing and were able to answer all questions we had before we went. We felt much more prepared after speaking with them and had an amazing time on the crossing!! Thank you!

Friendly staff that provided helpful information about our hike the next day. Easy to book transportation to the park for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike. Nice to have an en-suite with kitchenette. Beds were a bit soft for us but not a deal breaker. We stayed at another property a second night that we booked first and added a night and the other property could not accommodate us. Wished we stayed at the Adventure for the two night.

Good place to stay while out and about around Ruapehu/Tongariro. You can watch dvds (selection to choose from at the office) and theres even a private spa pool that you can book

Bed was comfortable and room was warm and nice. Tv has cable and it was clear. I thought the term kitchenette was misleading as there is no stove in the room. just microwave, kettle, and toast. so it would be more accurate to call jt a pantry? Hooks in the toilet will be appreciated too. Flushing system can be improved too. Walls are abit thin.

We were amazed how clean everything was around. Shared bathroom was in fantastic condition, and also the room was perfectly clean. Next time we come to National park, we would surely look for this place.

Super cute ski lodge feel. We came to hike Tongagiro crossing so it was a perfect base and we booked transport through Adventure lodge. The only thing is shared bathrooms downstairs. And few food options besides the burger food truck down the street

So warm, and so quiet for sleeping. Good to talk with travellers preparing / completed the Crossing. Would have liked a side lamp in the room - only one ceiling light in a room that could've slept five.

The bed was so incredibly comfortable, the best I've slept in during our whole trip in the North island. Parking in front of the room was very convenient. The room and bathroom was very spacious. We made use of the laundry facilities $4 cash per load including detergent and use of dryer was free. As I didn't have an cash, my credit card was charged with a surcharge of $5.50. Overall, highly recommend and was the perfect stay for doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Very cheap accommodation. We had a room immediately opposite bathroom with was great. Very noisy at night -didn't appear to be any insulation between ceiling and 1st floor, so guests walking normally on 1st floor were VERY noisy in rooms below. Exiting the lodge could be interesting if full as had to reverse down length of accommodation building - map showed a ringroad which no longer exists.

Actual unit was OK but we were most concerned by missing smoke alarm. We went off to sleep after seeing the empty alarm bracket and confirming our escape options were the ranch slider or the sliding door (our unit only had a single entry / exit…a solitary single sliding door). We would have contacted the reception to replace missing smoke alarm but it had already been made clear they were busy with shuttle runs. The bedside lamps also had different coloured bulbs (warm white and cool white) so using them was meant mismatched lighting. The shower curtain was 20cm too short for the cubicle and there was a reminder of a need to wash and dry dishes / cutlery otherwise an additional cleaning charge or $30 would be incurred (a thought of not washing our dishes was amusing…who leaves dirty dishes :-S ). Anyway - our stay was just overnight. Overall good accommodation option and certainly clean…just needed a few adjustments around making everyone who arrives feel welcome and safe.

Bad experience: who is responsible for information correctness of accommodation,Motel or agent website? I booked from Wotif,a 160$ room with private bathroom and DVDs, TV, Digital channels as room information details shown.when checkin I was told just shared bathroom. I insisted I booked room with private bathroom then they admitted room information was wrong,suggested if unsatisfied I could pay 85$ extra to change one with own bathroom. How can I accept such option to pay more for someone else’s fault? $160 is much higher than common sense of shared-bathroom, poor-condition room with no DVDs, TV in room at all.it’s Room only as the owner said.But “All 9 rooms offer in-room free WiFi, LCD TVs with digital channels, and safes” is still shown on website,even now 10 days passed.Nearby motels, similar shared-bathroom ones were all around $125,I would have picked another if I really need a cheap one with shared bathroom. This shows how the motel charges unreasonably high prices for some rooms by false and misleading information. The false informations have not been corrected yet one week after the motel owner promise to do so and he said it due to agent delay. Private was changed to shared-bathroom finnally but other false information of TV DVDs still there.False information continually trap more travelers and bring more profit. Who benefits who has motive,common sense.False infos might have been there from long time ago.Not sure how many but I’m not the only one misled.

it was good. close to the ski fields. service was good and friendly. the room took a while to warm up with the big oil fin heater in the room at first but after a while and at night it was nice and warm!

The owners are fantastic, super informative and helpful. The most helpful people I encountered during my entire trip in NZ, and NZ was full of nice and helpful people! I was informed about everything relevant in the village, given meal recommendations (all of which were great), and they even set me up with the on-site shuttle service for the Tongariro hike. Can't say enough good things about this place

Very convenient to Tongariro National Park. We had room #8 which had a nice deck where we enjoyed wine every night. Big spacious room. Easy walkjng distance to several good restaurants. Definitely recommend.
