“Time Capsule”
This place seemed to be right out of the 70's what with the decor and bathroom fixtures and such but it was pretty clean and well kept. The people running the place were pleasant and the location was nicely central to Tahoe City- very short walks to the Safeway and downtown area. If you are on a budget and don't mind a bit of "vintage hotel", this place wasn't too bad! I would stay here again...
“Great Value Hotel”
This hotel is a fantastic value. Perfect location, the price is right, the staff is friendly and I would highly recommend this hotel to the budget traveler.
“Spend your money well”
A lot better than expected! I thought I was going to stay in a bellow average place, because I wasn't willing to pay some extra dollars for a hotel. It turned out to be a very nice place, better than many expensive hotels where I've stayed before.
“Nice but Noisy”
Overall this is a very good hotel. The outside is not in great condition but the rooms are very nice! I really liked the design and comfort of the room. The only downside is that the walls are very thin and it is very easy to hear everything the people next to you are doing and saying. the location is amazing and the view of lake is great!
“decent quiet room”
The staff is very nice. The room is decent and quiet. The towels need some bleach.
“Comfortable bed close to skiing”
It is not the Ritz Carlton, but a decent room with a new bed, freshly paint, and convenient location 10 minutes to Alpine Meadows. TV reception is poor, but I do not stay in motels to watch TV all night. I will stay there again for the rate, clean room, and the comfort of the bed.
“clean but need update”
Rooms are very small and dark. Bathroom and shower need update. Overall it's clean but old. Lady at check in is very friendly.
“It's not a hotel, it's hell”
We booked 3 rooms, check-in at 2p, i called them to let them know that we'd arrive around 12am, so they left us 3 keys in the envelope with my name, kept in the emergency phone boot cos office close at 9pm. When we got there we saw a lady with eyeglasses in the office at 12am, we just got the key in the emergency phne booth. We couldn't get into 1 room because of their key so we came to the office to ask if that lady could help. She disappeared, we used their emergency phone for dozen times, it was always busy, we called the office, nobody picked up the phone, we rang the bell, knocked the office door for half an hour, nothing happened. It was 19 degree and we need that room so we could all sleep. After all effort to get help from the hotel without respond, we had to climb into that room by the restroom window of the next room. Finally we got 3 rooms for everyone to sleep. The room was dirty, the sheets and the pillows stinked. Next morning at 9, i checked out and asked if i can have the receipt, the lady with eye glasses told me she didn't have the receipt 'cos i booked online with expedia. I told her that was nonsense because she wrote down my credit card number. I also told that we were locked out because one key couln't open the door. She asked if i rang the bell, i told her we tried everything to get an employee of the hotel for one hour. She kept saying it was my fault and didn't even say sorry. What kind of business is this? We'll defenitely never come back.
