Excellent location for any time of year

Posted 18-Jul-2014
We went up looking to be close to Edgewood golf course for celebrity golf tournament and this place was perfect for us, walked maybe 300yrds to entrance of course, got lots of pictures w celebrities and autographs, was with 75rds of back entrance to Harvey's casino for night time entertainment, during day they have us guest passes and coupons for lakeside beach resort which is maybe 4 blocks away, excellent time, had fun around the firepit cooking smores later at night w kids, room was perfect w 2 queens and 2 single bunk beds. Would recommend it to anyone👍

Loved it both visits.

Close to everything but not your typical casino room. Cute rustic decor, friendly staff, and clean. Just wish the beds were softer and for A/C.

Pros: The value of the hotel and the staff was very friendly. The location is also walkable.
Cons: The floors are old and creaky and noise traveled between units.
Great value for the money, with some thin walls being the only drawback.

AC would be nice addition

Posted 3-Jul-2014
Very nice and clean. The only thing that would make this place better if they had AC in room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to give us room with AC, this only room with AC.

What a find!

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: All of the above :)
Location: Walking distance to both the beach as well as lots of shops and casinos only a block away. Restaurants further along are no more than a 15min walk
Modern and quirky hotel with some great features and art work across the property. Walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants and free parking :) Amazing freshly baked pastries for breakfast from a local bakery and free tea coffee and water throughout the day. Large selection of local and unusual ales and wines at the bar along with happy hour offers. They also have a lovely roof top jacuzzi tub and gas fire pits for the evening after a day of paddle boarding or other activities on the lake ... And to top it off they offer s'more kits to toast over the fire too! Such thoughtful touches at a lovely friendly property at great value :) very happy with our choice of stay and wish we had stayed more than the 1 night!

Basecamp

Posted 29-Jun-2014
The hotel was great for the cost. The area on the other hand was a bit schetchy because of the casinos across the street. Not knowing the area, I should have done more research

Thanks so much for your review! While we are conveniently located across the street from the casinos, please know there is a great deal of redevelopment and revitalization currently taking place in the area. A new 5-star hotel recently opened just two blocks from Basecamp, the Chateau Project, which will provide several new retail and dining options, is well underway and we are now in the process of an expansion project that will allow us to offer additional rooms, a beer garden and some really cool meeting spaces. Good things are happening in the neighborhood!

Relaxing stay

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: Updated, outdoor living area, location, staff, and plenty of parking.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Casinos, short walk to Lake Tahoe beach, places to run.
Recently remodeled older hotel now done in a contemporary style and adventure theme. Outdoor firepit with benches and tables to relax. Small bar with beer and wine with happy hour. Our room on third floor had a balcony with two adirondack chairs. For those that gamble, Harvey's Casino is about 250 feet down the street. Highly recommend. I even bought the Basecamp Hotel tee shirt when I left.
