Don't expect too much.
This is a place you get a bed to sleep and breakfast, but don't expect anything great. Everything is very basic and the hotel needs a face uplift. At least during this stay it was totally over-priced (about 200 euro).

Standard Scandic
Nice but somewhat outdated hotel just a block away from the beautiful harbor. All the basic amenities available but nothing special. A good stay.

Worst Scandic experience
Room was separated from another room with only a door so that all voices could be clarely heard. Service at the front desk was very unpleasant.

Room on the smaller side with in-room sauna
The hotel is located in the center of Lappeenranta, about 19 miles from the Russian border. The hotel is more on the basic site and the accommodations are quite small. There is a sauna in the shower room; also quite tiny. However, it is very quiet and provides the basics. Good for a one-night on business.

Good Location - right in the centre of everything
Original room air-conditioning not working properly. Hotel changed rooms without delay and new room was sufficiently cool. Good Location - close to lake, and shopping precinct

Convenient hotel close to sights
we were touring Finland starting in Helsinki driving to Lapland and then returning over a ten day period. The hotels on offer were generally average. This hotel, one of two in the Scandic chain in this town was a step above most of the others we encountered. Friendly, helpful staff, convenient underground car park, clean and good sized, comfortable rooms and a good dining room serving an excellent buffet breakfast and a value for money dinner. The location was excellent and the town definitely worth a visit.

Central hotel in historic surroundings
This is hotel adjacent to the Swedish Earth-Works fortress built in 1649 and the 1741 battlefield between Sweden and Russia 4000 casualties, won by Russian Empire. The battle was fought over tactical positions on the border. Finland belonged to Sweden at that time.

First time you here alone. often with my family on a business trip in the same hotel because thus keep a safe choice. Very good hotel in every way, great thanks goes to the staff. Very friendly and also with the family traveling to take into account the children really well. I recommend this hotel for everyone warmly. All you want to see here in Lappeenranta is very close to this hotel. Calm, No traffic noise, close to the cozy harbor with a lot of events during the summer.

Class reunion in Lappeenranta
Great location near historic park and harbor market place, where my group had the best casual food 'vety' and 'atomi' in the morning. Wolkoff Museum and Restaurant were great finds. I'll return next summer with family. The only minus was noisy neighbors next door slamming doors and talking loudly at night-NOT the fault of the hotel. Lobby service excellent!

Location trumps minor drawbacks
Great location so near the harbor. Our room had a tiny balcony and park view and all the basics, but a little cramped. Staff was ultra helpful. A fine standard Finnish hotel breakfast was included. An upstairs gym was tightly packed with equiptment but sufficient to get a basic workout in. If you don't want to deal with pay parking restrictions on the lot, you can park in the garage for 10 E, but be careful of the hairpin turn! Elevator lobby's smell could be helped by a carpet upgrade.

Comfortable hotel in the town centre
I was in Lappeenranta mainly to go on the cruise to Vyburg and the hotel is an easy walk to the lake and jetty. Also next to the fortress. Car parking is expensive but the receptionist kindly pointed out free on street parking 200m away. Free email and large choice for breakfast.

My first experience with Hotel Patria in Lappeenranta was way back in 1973. It was then still a wooden building with few facilities in the rooms. The old Patria was torn down and its name was inherited by today's establishment: a state-of-the-art comfortable but still cozy hotel, close to the lake harbour, which of course this time of the year was still asleep. At the hotel, everything was to our full satisfaction. Only one little thing disturbed me: why not serve breakfast until 10 instead of only until 9.30? Not everybody is a busy salesman, some hotel guests actually want to take it easy in the morning!

Rooms are nice but with some chain feeling. Restaurant does not match the 4-star rating at all. Dinner and breakfast were heavy and tasteless and without imagination. Starting from morning coffee everything is more or less tasteless and of below mediocre quality. Sauna department has new jacuzzi but whole interior has taste of past decades and requires renovation and decoration. Price is above quality

Perfect location - nice hotel (met our needs)
We enjoyed our stay, but it was not a good value - quite expensive, even for Finnish prices, in my opinion. Room was nice, great location (walk to bus, walk to ferry, walk to eat), next to City Center. They are doing construction on the street out front, but it isn't bad and the noise was not a problem. Fantastic buffet breakfast, like all Finnish hotels - wonderful food. Stayed here twice a few days apart, before and after our Saima cruise to St. Petersburg - nice side trip.

Huippusijainti linnoituksen ja sataman välittömässä läheisyydessä.Kauppakadun kiva terassikeskittymä muutaman askeleen päässä mutta ei niin lähellä että meteli kuuluisi hotellille. Huone oli tilava ja siisti.Kylppärissä tarpeeksi laskutilaa lavuaarin molemmin puolin. Pieni parveke oli plussaa. Aamiainen oli perushyvä, riittävästi valikoimaa mutta ehkä epäjohdonmukaisessa järjestyksessä vähän siellä sun täällä. Esim. juomapiste oli oudosti sijoitettu. Ystävällinen henkilökunta ja mukava ilmapiiri koko hotellissa.
