Wonderful.
Great location in Laveno. Our room faced the water and made for great sunsets. Nice bed and bathroom. The staff was pleasant. Parking was easy and we were only a few minutes from town and the ferry. The on-site restaurant is excellent. Breakfast, for a fee, was worth it.

This is a wonderful property with kind and very special owners. The food and service was so amazing. When I asked for a taxi to the train station - there were none available so they have a ride to the station! Above and beyond!

Such a beautiful little hotel right on the water! Spectacular views. Sparkling clean. Friendly and attentive staff. Complimentary parking. Delicious food downstairs. What more could you ask for?

Lake Maggiorre
Nice location; private but close to ferries so can take day trips to other towns. Food at the hotel was better than other places hands down. Wifi was a little complicated but eventually figured it out.

We loved the private and cool balcony with wonderful vistas across thd lake. We loved watching the coming and going of watercraft on the lake. We enjoyed the welcomes of the coot family and fish of the lake every morning. We were grateful for gluten free options and a lovely breakfast rach new morning. We loved the delicious, flavourful food which was created by fine food craftsmen. We were grateful for our little hire car to help with the tricky corner road nearby. We loved the style and ambiance of this beautiful hotel and recommend it to other travellers who want to enjoy Lake Maggiore and Italy with just a short hop, skip and jump to Switzerland too. We spent a week touring the high pass roads between Italy and Switzerland before a rest by this gorgeous Italian lake. Loved it!

Very clean and modern hotel with comfortable beds and beautiful views from the private balconies! It is slightly let down by the service side of things however, with service definitely not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant with stunning lake views. Only downside is that it is not very easily accessible by foot, as it is outside Laveno Mombello along a few hundred metres of road with no footpath.

Amazing views and super meals
Beautiful views of Lake Maggiore from our room. Our room and public areas are very clean. Leisure and enjoyable breakfast. We also ate two dinners at hotel. They were very good.

First impressions are not alway correct!
Tough one to evaluate. The check in was not great, seemed a bit amateurish. Was annoyed to find the room service as advertised was not available.BUT...and this is an important but, discovered that the hotel contains a Michelin starred restaurant, and found the lady owner to be extremely charming, super helpful on wine choice at dinner, food was exceptional. The hotel location is fabulous, small and quiet. I'll go back for sure. What they MUST Sonia inform incoming guests that is it a restaurant in demand and that they should book well in advance to get a table. And maybe up the room service menu a bit. I'd have loved to have dinner one evening on our private terrace.

Fantastic views across the lake to the North/West Extremely helpful staff with any minor problems resolved quickly We went out of season so quiet and peaceful but restaurant closed Tuesday-Wednesday.

Lake Maggiore splendour!
Excellent location, right on the lake. Beautiful views from the balcony across the lake with the Alps visible in the distance. Lovely family feel to the hotel. Great breakfast too!

Really nice hotel. Views from the rooms are fantastic (the entire wall facing the lake is glass). Friendly and helpful staff. Short walk to town, although about 200 meters of it is along a narrow road with no sidewalks … be careful in that section. Laveno Mombello is a quaint and picturesque town, much quieter than Stresa or Verbania. We stayed for 2 days and very much enjoyed it.

The location and views makes it worth it
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Il Porticciolo in the Delux Junior Suite, the room is big and spacious the view is absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is a bit outdated but it's more along the lines of boutique, the staff are nice but we did have some language barriers (which was fine with google translate). It's well located and close to town and they also have the Michelin starred restaurant, we had dinner at the La Tavola Michelin starred restaurant and the food was impressive with the backdrop of the lake too. They also have their own jetty so you can swim, get a water taxi, ride their pedal boat off it. Being on the lake makes it super special, we'll be back.

Nice place , good room and bathroom w fine cleanliness. Magnificent view. Dinner surprisingly non exceptional for Italian kitchen. Strange contrast to have breakfast in such a nice place, surrounded by back packer, tank top, fluffy shirts and flip flops.

We had a great stay in this awesome hotel. Service was great, breakfast buffet very good, very pleasant management. I greatly recommend this place. If you go there, take Lago Maggiore Express tour!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Historic hotel with contemporary decor and modern amenities. Wonderful setting and views of the lake. We ate dinner at the hotel...one of our best meals in Italy. We'll be back...highly recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy the northern lake region.

The hotel is situated right on the lake and parking is available. Rooms are very new and very smart with a magnificent view over the lake.

Super hotel rechtstreeks aan het meer van Maggiore met een prachtig uitzicht. Het personeel is vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. Zij doen hun best zo goed mogelijk engels te spreken, een pré. Het ontbijt en diner waren top, niet veel maar wel genoeg keuze en alles met veel passie bereid. De kamers zijn modern vormgeven en waren leuk aangekleed bij aankomst. De bedden zijn zeer comfortabel, de (regen)douche is ook fijn alleen werkt de temperatuur soms want omslachtig. Parkeren is soms even puzzelen, zeker als u over een lange auto beschikt. Er is een kleine parkeerplaats op het hotel zelf en een naast het hotel. Op een wat drukkere avond kan het soms lastig zijn auto's niet in de weg te staan maar het personeel weet hier vaak raad mee. Hieraan valt verder weinig te doen gezien de ligging dus dit is geen negatief punt waard. Al met al een top hotel en zeker een aanrader.

Charming hotel on a beautiful spot
We stayed three nights at Il Porticciolo and found it very charming and cosy. Location right on the lake-front is fabulous and you can admire the scenery from your own balcony or the beautiful breakfast/dinner terrace. I'll remember nights on the balcony admiring the lights across the lake. Service was friendly and impeccable and the room very comfortable, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Laveno-Mombello is rather small and this hotel is a bit outside the village, so a car is highly recommended to get around.

Pas de climatisation à notre arrivée, la chambre indiquait 26 degrés !!! Au début, le patron nous a dit que l’hôtel était complet mais vu notre mécontentement, ils nous ont octroyé une chambre climatisée pour la nuit tout en laissant nos bagages dans la 1ère. Ce n’est que le lendemain que la patronne nous a libéré une chambre climatisée donc quelques déboires à notre arrivée!! Vue et paysage idylliques, belle chambre avec terrasse mais petits déjeuners moyens au prix quand même de 14,50€!
