This is an older hotel in an excellent location. We had paid extra for a "partial view" of Lago Maggiore, but we must have been upgraded since we had a lovely little balcony with a full view of the lake. We really appreciated this because it was kind of cold and windy (end of November) but we were still able to enjoy the view and the sunrise before leaving for the airport to fly home. The breakfast is very nice and we were able to find free parking in one of the large lots down past the railway station, about a 10 minute walk away. As a normal hotel, this property has a full reception, and the staff were helpful in printing our boarding passes and answering our questions. The owners of this hotel should consider replacing/upgrading the showers. We enjoyed walking along the lake front and having coffee at one of the places along there. For dinner, I recommend 900 Novocento Ristorante on Corso Liberazione 28. Their food is excellent, the staff nice, and their historic dining room has a cozy fire (in cooler seasons) in a big old stone fireplace. Highly recommended.

Convenient, lovely , on the Lake.
It's a nice hotel on the shore of Lake Maggiore. Not too fancy, but the staff are lovely. Pay the extra and get a room with a balcony as it makes it so much nicer to have the view of the lake etc.

Advertised with air con but the room was sub tropical and hotter than hell! Tried to get it sorted but after two days of being fobbed off I finally got told they’d turned it off as it worked for the building but wasn’t needed now as it was cold outside! Checked out a day early to get a decent nights sleep! Only positive is the restaurant next door which is fab

What a Disappointment!
We booked this hotel for the last night of a 12 day trip to Italy and Switzerland. What a disappointment! From the check-in where the woman could have cared less to help us, to the fact that there actually is no parking at the hotel (there is paid on-street if you can find it, or a couple paid lots blocks away), to the room that needs total updating - torn wallpaper, stained and worn carpet, toilet seat that twists when you sit - to the super rude guy at check-out. The only good things about this hotel were the helpful and friendly waiter at breakfast and the location. If you want to be in the heart of the waterfront/historical district with lots of shopping and dining options (although noisy crowds outside the hotel rooms), this is the place to go.

Lakeside stay in Arona
Excellent location plus our room overlooked the lake. Hotel needed modernization and parking could have been a problem but the hotel were very helpful and gave us a special parking permit which could be used anywhere in Arona.

A welcoming hotel
Centrally located on the lakeside. Very friendly and helpful staff. All town facilities were in walking distance. A great starting point for a holiday at Lake Maggiore.

Great Hotel
Lovely hotel in a fantastic position by the lake. The staff are friendly and so helpful. The hotel is ideally positioned for bars, restaurants and exploring the area. The superior rooms are really nice and those that are lake facing provide stunning views of the lake.

Memorable Stay!
While this hotel is on the main street in Arona, it is at the quiet end. The location is excellent for access to the train station (6 minute walk) and views of the lake.

The location is excellent, right on the main road overlooking the lake and amongst all the shops and bars. Easy walk to everything-beach, trainstation, ferry etc. Our window overlooked the street behind full of shops and cafés but with the window and shutters closed noise wasn't a problem. The air con was a godsend as it was very hot, and the room was cleaned everyday and left with the windows closed and air con on so it was lovely and cool when we walked in. Decor is old fashioned rather than contemporary but wasn't tatty and everything was spotlessly clean. Only downside was the shower cubicle was very small. It would have been nice to have had a kettle to make tea in the room, but you could get a tray from downstairs. Free parking was a great bonus

It was a business trip. The hotel situated at great location. just opposite to lake and nice view. We did not get lake view. It is a old building and the toilet door did not have lock and shower sliding door was dangling. We stayed for 3 days , even after complain no one take any action. Limited variety in breakfast menu. Great Location
Overlooking the lake, Hotel Giardino is in a great location, right in the centre of Arona. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station and literally in the centre of the shopping area. Walk down the lake for an array of trendy bars and restaurants until you get to the popular Piazza Popolo a few minutes walk away. The decor of the rooms is extremely dated and in need of modernization, but this is true of all the hotels in Arona. The lighting in our room was dim, though it was spotlessly clean and we barely spent any time in the room anyway. Includes a parking pass to park anywhere in a designated box on the street (which can sometimes be hard to find in busy periods and you might find yourself parking a few minutes walk away - hardly an issue while walking along the beautiful lake it has to be said). Friendly staff.
