“A place for TLC especially in the summer.”
I enjoyed my stay and the Thanksgiving luncheon with a view of the lake was a special treat.
“Absolutely beautiful setting.”
The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and very sweet. The restaurant was exceptional as well.
“No value, look somewhere else...”
My guess is this hotel was built in the 60s and has had carpet laid over old carpet, siding put on peeling exterior walls and new furniture added. My bed wasn't bad but the floor in the room creeked and sagged, the bathroom tub backed up, the bathroom faucet dripped and the toilet was so close to the wall that I hit my elbow when using the facility. We had a large group go to the restaurant (Giovanni's) for a family dinner. We called and set up a reservation. Space restrictions don't allow for the details but the service was horrendous with the result being the dinner not being served till 1 and a half hours after arrival and one of our party not being served till nearly 2 hours. We left before dessert (part of our meal deal) as our patience was exhausted. Met with the hotel management and their solution was to offer a comp for the late meal and a free dinner that night for 2 couples. Well, dreading a repeat we declined the free dinner offer. Checking out the next day we noticed they had tacked on a full 18% gratuity for the aptly name WAIT staff. Another meeting ensued with hotel management... To sum up, The Georgian has a comfortable bed to sleep in and a view overlooking Lake George. Lake George is too nice a place to go to have to deal with an establishment like the Georgian. Value your time and money and go somewhere else! Oh, they have spent their money upgrading the web site and front desk building. Don't be deceived to think the rest of the place looks as nice...
“AVOID BY ALL MEANS!!”
There are too many good hotels on that block. Hotel Review: The Georgian used to be a 4 star hotel about 25 years ago. It is 2 star now for a reason. It is literally falling apart. The door jams and moldings are falling off. The grounds have not been touch since what looks like the 50s. You can tell it looked cool at one time many decades ago. The beach is tiny, full of boats and terrible. You can't swim there. The front desk staff is grouchy an incompetent. There was a line of 20 people all with huge mistakes on their reservations and payments last Sunday. There are many many amazing hotels on Canada Street and Lake Shore Drive. This was the most disappointing worst hotel for the money I have ever stayed in.
“Totally misleading ad”
Pictures shown misleading had parking lot view , dirty rooms, dirty rugs, rooms not well equipped. Prices outrageous for what you get. Will never go there again or recommend place to anyone.
“Great Location!”
The hotel was in a great location at Lake George. It was an older hotel that could use some updating, but the staff was efficient and the maid for our room was great and kept the room very clean.
“Georgian Hotel - Great Location”
We stayed at the Georgian Hotel in Lake George for our vacation, as we have done about a half-dozen times before over the past 15 years. We really love two things very much about the Georgian Resort: 1) Its location and 2) Its Pool/Patio area. 1) Location: The Georgian is in walking distance to downtown Lake George and we enjoy being able to walk to all the Lake George Restaurants, Shops and Attractions. 2) Pool/Patio Area: We love the Georgians large Pool & Patio area nestled between scenic Lake George with its green mountain backdrop and the Hotel. We always spend quality time as a family at the pool swimming, watching the kids play, and gazing out at all that is going on at the lake (boating, tubing, para-sailing, site-seeing cruises, . . .) My only complaint about the Georgian is that it is not as nice as it used to be, it does not appear that much has been put back into improving the resort other than for the necessary maintenance.
“Great location”
I would recommend this hotel only for the location. Our room had a patio with lounge chairs and our own patio table and chairs. The patio overlooked the mountains and lake. Everything was within walking distance. However, the hotel needs some upkeeping and a face lift. The room was ok but the shower had some mould in it. The pool area is really nice with it's own bar located to the side. This is the nicest property on Canada Street. Basically you are paying for the amazing views.
“Fun trip”
Fishing Lockhart was great! Ad. Extreme adventure awesome
“Nice location, not impressed about hotel.”
Location is great, hotel located on the lake. Room was ok.
