“No frills, but good value all things considered”

Other than the fact that the heater in my room didn't work, I was pleased with my stay. The price was inexpensive, there was free wi-fi in the rooms, and the breakfast (oatmeal, bagels, donuts, juice, coffee, tea) was not bad.

“Bare bones”

We thought we were booking the Super 8 right in Lake George, but ended up at this Super 8 in Warrensburg, a good 6 miles out of town. No pool, less convenient to Lake George attractions... room was very small and smelled musty. Stains on wall behind bed, very few outlets available for phone charger, etc., tiny bathroom with no counter space. Housekeeping made beds and replaced towels, but didn't wipe down bathroom sink or tub or vacuum while we there, and accidently left door ajar one day after cleaning so our room was unsecured while we were out. Overall, no frills, and definitely a "bare bones" kind of hotel. Don't think we would return with so many other choices in the area.

Area recommendations
Loved Lake George for a family vacation! Went to Magic Forest (kids are 3 and 5 yrs old), picnicked at the top of Prospect Mountain, went on the Minnie-Ha-Ha and spent a day at the water park at the Great Escape Lodge. Lots of fun!
Dining
You can drop a lot of money on food in Lake George, but two things we did to save a little were to pick up sandwiches and picnic food at the grocery store (P&C, I think it was, just one block off the main street in town, near the park) for lunch one day. We also ate at a great little diner, which is across from the A&W, right by the Family Fun Center. Reasonable prices, and we all enjoyed our food. Much better than the pricey kids meals at many of the other restaurants, and we're pretty health-conscious so it gave us better options than chicken nuggets or grilled cheese and french fries!
Family-friendly activities
LOVED the Magic Forent for our 3 and 5 year old. Lovely tree-lined paths, lots to see and do, they could ride every ride as many times as they wanted, short lines, magic shows... and rides mom and dad could ride with the kids, too. We had a blast - much better than Great Escape for kids this age!
Outdoors or beach
Definitely would recommend a drive to the top of Prospect Mountain for a picnic or just picture-taking. Beautiful!!

“For money paid, very decent motel.”

Wanted a motel close to Lake George but not the price of being downtown. Overall was very happy with the motel. The beds were a little bit to hard for my liking and the tub did not empty the greatest. Overall though the room was very clean and loved the decor of the room, very fitting for the area. Would stay there again.

“Not Recommended”

The room felt damp and had a funky smell. The wifi only worked in the lobby.

“Nice Hotel but a bit far from Lake George”

This hotel was quiet, clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Free breakfast is included in price and include bagels, donuts, coffee, milk, and cereal. The location is pretty far from downtown Lake George, Bolton Landing, Glen Falls, and Fort Edward so a car is an absolute necessity. McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, and a gas station are literally across the street.

Area recommendations
Bolton Landing is a quaint area next to Lake George with lots of cool little shops and restaurants. The view of the lake and the mountains is fantastic! Try out the Algonguin restaurant for some good food and views and stroll through the grounds of the historic Sagamore Hotel and Resort. Amazing views!
Getting around
If you don't have a car, you can get around by cab but be ready for the cost to be high since distances are fairly long. The best company to use is Tri County Cab. The drivers are all friendly, knowledgeable, drive safely and can take you anywhere within Lake George and its environs. Don't use White Cab Co. Dispatchers are extremely nasty.

“Great hotel for one night”

Hotel was great for a one night stay. Check in was a breeze and the room was comfortable. Do not expect much from the free breakfast. When I got down there everything was already gone and the OJ machine was dispensing watered down juice. Couldn't find anyone around so luckily their was a McDonald's right across the street and we ate there. Overall, not a bad place to sleep for one night.

“fine for a couple nights”

Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Rugs needed a better cleaning between beds. Very difficult to find entrance to parking lot. Need a sign marking entrance from the main road. I would stay again.

“budget motel”

typical budget motel; stayed there while taking kids to summer camp in the area. Good price for the area, but extremely basic. Barely acceptable.
