“A Quaint Stay in a Nice Location”
I enjoyed my stay at this location. It is just far enough away from the traffic and noise of Lake George, yet still be able to enjoy a quick skirmish to the lake. It is very close to the entrance to Prospect Mountain. It is also near a huge water park. The service is great, they will do what they can to be helpful, I am allergic to bee's and one found its way into my room. The owner quickly came down and got rid of the bee and then tidy'd up my whole room afterwards. We stayed in the budget rooms. At times if you have a noisy guest in an adjacent room you can hear them, but its no big deal with the TV on low or if you don't spend all your time in the room. Its quiet time after 11 so you shouldn't have to worry about noise after that time. If this is an issue upgrade to the newer rooms, I saw them and they have bigger walls and are more modern. I like the rustic nature of the cheaper rooms with the mountain view and direct parking lot access, which works for me. The pool was wonderful, and I was the only one it, perhaps I got lucky, but I enjoyed it. Be sure to bring cash to pay for your trip when you arrive, but paying early makes leaving very easy. We had a fridge, cable TV (remote was a bit old, but worked), walk in shower, and clean towels\bed linings\ and nice shampoo \soap in the bathroom. There was also free coffee in the morning, which is nice. I can't post what I paid for this room, but it was very affordable.
“Great for families”
This is our 3rd year at the STudio Motel. The first year, we had a kitchen effeciency, which was great, but led right into the main parking lot (not great when you have a young child). Last year we stayed upstairs, great room, and a deck that the kids could go in and out without being in the parking lot. However, this was not a kitchen eff room, which I missed. This year, we NAILED it. Staying in a kitchen eff room, off the back lot (not as busy) and with a lawn, BBQ area, and picnic table literally right outside the room. I plan on requesting this room for our next visit!
“ECD50”
The part of the motel we stayed in was old, and musty smelling. We had to keep windows open at all times. On the positive side, the pool was beautiful and clean. We did check out the newer rooms and they were very nice. It would be worth it to pay a little more and stay in the newer and bigger rooms.
“a great place to stay”
I'm not sure that all rooms were as wonderful as ours. The motel has different buildings, some of which are very old, with much cheaper rates. We stayed in a new building and, for some reason, were put in the 'handicapped room'. This room was unusually spacious, modern, extremely clean, and well lit. The bathroom was also spacious and beautifully appointed with a walk-in shower. The beds were great, too! This is a non-smoking motel, with chairs, a table, and an ashtray right in a little alcove right outside the door -- protected from the weather.
