Disappointing for the price

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Pros: beds were comfortable
Cons: daily housekeeping would be nice-shouldn't have to go ask for clean towels, more toilet paper and take your own trash out. Pull out sofas very worn
Location: Since the waterpark closed, we took the kids to fun zone about 2 miles away-they had laser tag and rollerskating
Not very clean-hairdryer covered in hair-turned it on and smelled like it would catch fire. Microwave didn't work-slice of pizza still cold after 5 minutes. Stayed 2 nights-no housekeeping came at all. Had to go ask for toilet paper & clean towels. The second day, someone pooped in the lazy river, so over half the waterpark area was shut down for a couple hours. Website says kids under 13 must be accompanied by adult in waterpark area, but they wouldn't let our 16 year old go in by herself. The new Adventure Trek game has kids constantly running up and down the halls-never any quiet time.

fun

Posted 7-Mar-2015
Pros: The fact it's fun for the kids
Cons: lol, just finished writing it out, in the past there was the looney tunes that the kids saw and now there is nothing.
Location: well winter there isn't much to do except the water park thats it near by nothing summer is a different story there are the rides golf etc.
I've been there before and have always enjoyed it, I think the only thing I would complain about is that it''s time to do some changes, I've been going there for over 10 years, and haven't seen any changes to the hotel, I feel it needs it, just a little it had been in the last 3 years, I felt it needs some changes, I say it with love.

Kids had fun and really have no complaints! It's a little loud at night especially when you're staying on the first floor.

Check in was pleasant. Room was clean. Waterpark is a bit small, but perfect little getaway for the winter time.

For families with younger kids

Posted 2-Mar-2015
Pros: Overall, a nice place to stay. The beds really are quite comfortable.
Cons: Friendliness and attentiveness of staff could be addressed.
Location: Outlets and a mall are a few minutes away. Hiking, mini golf, etc. during the summer months. Saratoga and Albany are both reasonable car rides away.
We took our 13 year old son for a two day getaway during break from school. The overall experience was fine. However, our son is probably at the upper end for the age group in which this is an appropriate experience and there is a lot of noise and running around in the hallways as younger kids complete some kind of mission/treasure hunt. The lobby of the hotel is nice and front desk staff was pleasant enough. The elevators haven't seen a vacuum...ever. The room was clean and the beds surprisingly comfortable. We don't look for fancy and our needs and expectations were well met. There was an unfortunate visit by, I'm assuming, a garbage truck in reverse at around 6:00 am on Friday. Even on the third floor it was incredibly loud. We only ate wings (excellent by the way) from the in house bar and grill but the bartender was great and the atmosphere was welcoming. If it's in the budget I would recommend eating here over Johnny Rockets (great waitress, good milkshakes, less than satisfying food...even for fast food). The indoor water park is getting to be fairly outdated and some of the younger staff are less than enthusiastic about their jobs. Conversation between two waterslide attendants seemed to take precedence over customer service. Again, we had a good time. Nothing to complain about really, but if you have older teenagers or no kids at all this may not be the best choice.

paid and not allowed

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Pros: Room was clean, most of the staff was nice.
Cons: Training of the staff with both chlorine and water levels in relation to what they tell patrons, and that they need to stop bullying in the water area
Location: Winter time-unable to use six flags regular park, but they did have the winter carnival and west mountain ski resort and outlet shops.
The room itself was a basic suit as the others were booked full. Clean with good working air/heater, free internet, and a microwave and coffee station. Extra blankets and pillows and towels were already there so no need to call room service. The issue we had was with the indoor water park. The whole purpose of the multiple night stay was to use the park. Check in wasn't allowed until at least 4pm, so we went for dinner first before heading down. Having an autistic and disabled child, the lazy river and water climbing set are the two areas that are easiest for him to be able to do. Both of which were closed and promised to reopen in 45mins. An hour of waiting later and several reassurances we were told it wouldn't be opening that night. Also told front desk would comp us for the loss of the nights use due to vomit/accident closing that area and the unreasonable wait. Front desk said a manager would speak to us next morning as she was unable to help, which didn't happen. Needless to say they gave us the run around for the entire stay. The next day the water park was fully open, but again with under trained life guards who were not aware that if a child is screaming in terror from another child pushing them, that they, the life guard, should do something. So we left the park instead of putting my son through more of that. He didn't wish to return. The other desk staff, food service, and housekeepers were incredibly polite though. Not a place i would pay to go again anytime soon.
