“Convenient for shows at the Civic Center.”
We chose this hotel due to the closeness to the Civic Center. We could walk to there in five minutes. Check in went fast. No waiting. I had read some of the reviews so we knew it was an older hotel. Our room was huge. There was no moldy smell anywhere like I read in some reviews. Our son stays there when he goes for his monthly training with the reserves, so I asked him ahead of time about the reviews. Our only complaint was the service at the bar/restaurant. We wanted to eat dinner before the show. There was only one waitress working the restaurant. There were two more standing next to the bar. I don't know what they were supposed to do but we noticed they brought out food and drinks in between. After ten minutes of waiting, my husband got up and ordered our drinks from the bar. By the time the waitress showed up, we told her we had to leave in 45 minutes and asked if we ordered hamburgers, if that would arrive faster. We waited 40 minutes for those hamburgers. We left without eating because by then they must have been sitting in the back for a while. They were luke warm. We complained to the frontdesk that the service was sub par. At least have the other two help out the poor waitress. We noticed that we were not the only ones getting impatient waiting for service.
“simple, worth the money”
clean, simple, practical. restaurant food, service below average
“Charm, comfort and spaciousness in a truly renovated old hotel.”
You'll like this place when you see the entrance and it gets better from there. It's a graciously renovated old hotel, with spacious rooms and comfortableness everywhere. You will want to sit in the lobby. Decent lunch and dinner restaurants and close to Saratoga race track and Lake George. Large indoor pool and hot tub. And the Expedia price is amazing.
“Not too Impressed”
We arrived at the Queensbury, and thought the hotel lobby and foyer was quite nice. Our room was huge, but the beds were small & mattresses too firm. There were no nice, thick blankets on the beds either- so my husband called down for some extra to be brought up. The outside noise of the street was a bit distracting, and the bathroom was very small with no counter space. The room smelled musty, so we turned on the air conditioner- which was very old, and very loud. The location of the hotel was fine, just in a busy area, so it was loud. We ended up not staying our second night, preferring to cut our trip short and go home to our nice, comfortable, quiet bedroom!
“great location and highly recommended”
overall great room for value. very clean. hotel has like a early 20th century feel to it, in a good way. highly satisfied for staying the one night.
“Labor day weekend”
Close to Saratoga Springs without the high priced rooms, Very Clean rooms.
“Quiet Hotel”
The Queensbury hotel is located in a good spot in town and didn't have a lot of outside noise to bother your sleep. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant connected to the hotel had a very good breakfast buffet.
“JAY”
We had a very nice two day stay. The room was comfortable and in a great location. Everyone was cheerful and helpful.
“what a comfortable stay, we cant wait to go back!”
at first we were disappointed with our room because it had a stale smell and the wondows didnt open but once i brought it to the attention of the front desk they switched us right away!
“A nice hotel needing renovations”
Very nice hotel, but with some flaws. The room had a strange small maybe due the old carpet. It would be a perfect hotel with bathroom renovations and carpet changing. Pros: Beautiful classic lobby, indoor pool. Cons: smelly room and weak (but functional) wi-fi signal.
