“Great location”

The hotel is in a wonderful location. The train station is about a 10 minute walk. The public transport (for which the hotel provides free vouchers) is a block away and makes side trips very easy.

The hotel was in the walking distance from the station. The room was pretty and clean. The balcony was on the lake side, and the view was so beautiful. People in the hotel were very friendly, and they all spoke good English.

An excellent experience, from first arriving at the desk to leaving. Had thought that breakfast might be over-priced, but changed my mind when I experienced the good quality, and tried (one day only) to replace it in local cafes.

“Superb location”

Superb location and very good value (for Switzerland). We took a non lake view room as we were only there for one night. The room was comfortable if a little dated. If you're there for longer it may be worth upgrading to a lake view which will be stunning from the position of the hotel. Indeed, the views from Montreux to the mountains are amazing as is Chateau Chillon (a 30 minute walk along the lake).

“BEAUTIFUL LOCATION”

We stayed for two nights in beautiful Montreux on the water... the location of the hotel is fabulous and the views from the dining room are just breathtaking... The overall condition of the hotel could use a bit of renovation, but the place is spotlessly clean....

“Fantastic location, right on the lake”

The Hotel Eden Palace au Lac is a beautiful, elegant hotel on Lake Geneva in Montreux. There is a gorgeous view of the water from the huge windows in the hotel lobby. We traveled midweek during off-season, so the staff seemed sparse, but all of our needs were met. Parking is an issue. Although free parking is advertised, there are only about 10 parking slots in front of the building. Because we were traveling in October, we were able to get one of the free spaces, but I can see that this would be a problem during the busy season. A parking garage is only a half-block away. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the food. We preferred to try different restaurants in the area, and there were a number within walking distance to choose from. We loved the promenade along the lake and walked all the way to the castle, then took the bus back with the free bus passes provided by the hotel. I was a little annoyed that the room assigned to us was on the first level facing the street with no view at all except the side of the office building across the way. It seems to me that we could have been provided with a better room when the hotel was empty! However, our Expedia rate was fantastic, and the room was clean and well maintained. Free movies were a nice perk!

“Huge room, amazing view, so-so condition”

I booked a "superior double room" with balcony. The view of the Lake of Geneva from our balcony was amazing; it was worth staying in this hotel just for that. The room itself was spacious, and the large bathroom (tiled, 2 sinks, with bidet) was in good condition. But the rest of the room and the lobby were worn, and housekeeping was hit-or-miss. In spite of that, I'd stay here again just to sit on the balcony.

“1st time in Switzerland and would go back!”

The Hotel had loads of advantages like it was not far to the Railway Station, Excursions (via train), Restaurants etc. The only disavantage i could only think of was the breakfast buffet, it was the same food every morning!
