“Hotel very good, but rooms can get hot in summer”
Artsy and very spacious rooms and hotel design, good location (very near to the train station but far from the waterfront), good food. I stayed on a very hot day (about 28 deg C outside) and inside it was about 25 with aircon on full. Difficult to fall asleep when it's so hot. I complained but was told there was nothing the admin could do.
“Enjoyable Hotel”
Nice and roomy for a hotel in Switzerland. Right across from train station and not a far walk from the center of city. Great fitness room on top floor with steam room and sauna.
“Great hotel and location”
Hotel was clean, very comfortable and in a great location (2 minutes from the train station). Did not enjoy pulling my luggage up the hill to get to the hotel, but that was a minor inconvenience. Loved the Thai Restaurant in the hotel, if you don't like the smell of Thai food you probably wouldn't want to stay here. I would recommend this hotel to everyone else!

The overall experience was pretty good, the hotel has a a great location a few meters from the train station, buses and shopping at St. Francois.
“Great hotel, been here dozens of times”
The hotel is quite good. It's clean, and it's in the heart of Lausanne, so you can walk to all kinds of things. I have only one gripe. If you need a parking spot, you will pay through the nose. Parking is not included with your hotel room, nor is it discounted. The public lot next door charges an arm and a leg. Your mileage will vary with the size of your room, too. Sizes range from huge to adequate. This is because of the architecture of the hotel, it uses lots of curves and it's irregular. It looks really cool. The rooms facing the street can get some "road noise" from the late-night bar-hopping crowd. Rooms facing the courtyard are more quiet.
“business hotel under renovation”
This hotel seems to be mainly a business hotel on weekdays and fill the room on weekends with mostly European tour groups. Pros: the hotel rooms are as modern and clean as advertised; near Lausanne train station (steep uphill 1 block from it); near water front (4 blocks steep uphill). Bathroom is spacious and more importantly--clean. The shower had great water pressure and drains well (personal pet peeve). The tap water tastes as good as any bottled water I've tasted--the source of Evian water apparently is across the lake from Lausanne. negatives: as of 5/22/09 under major renovation on some floors of the hotel. We had to walk on plastic tarps at parts. However, because it was over the weekend, no one was working. Parking is next to hotel--I believe cheaper parking can be found by the train station. The hotel service staff is stoic and detached, which seemed strange until I realized that is reflective of Swiss culture.

The hill is not an issue as other reviewers have pointed out. It is strategically located and very convinient
“Good central location”
The hotel is very pleasant - light, bright and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was a good size with excellent facilities. The choice of TV stations was the best I have seen. There was also a good-sized bathroom. However the room did smell very musty and there were several stains on the carpet. The hotel is very well located - 5 minutes walk from the station and similar distance to Place St Francois. It is on quite a steep hill however.
