“Will go back”

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was amazingly clean. The beds are very comfortable. However - we were given a room in the old part of the hotel and found that although the rooms were clean - maintenance of those rooms were poor. We had to change rooms twice as we came across such problems like a shower hose which was perforated (first room), in the second room the holder for the shower hose had not been secured properly to the wall, the room was very close to the kitchens/waste and the smell was unpleasant. The Reception staff moved us to the third room which ticked all the boxes. There was one concern with this hotel - some of the balconies look out onto the flat roof of the hotel and although we did want to leave the door open - we found there was a guy wandering around. As we all know it only takes an opportunist a second. We were on a B&B basis and found the breakfast more than adequate - to suit every guest. Taking all the above points into account - I would still stay at the Astoria (most probably because all the staff were so friendly and accommodating).

“Good value hotel”

We booked one of the superior rooms which was not a bad size, extremely clean and had a balcony. The road outside is quite noisy, but it wasn't a real problem. The breakfast was good and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The WiFi and free computer in the hotel were a nice extra. The hotel is only a short walk from the Lake and all it's restaurants. The walk around the Lake (6.2km) is lovely, if you do walk don't bother with the tourist train, it takes you on the same route. We hired a car and getting about was easy, not too much traffic and easy to follow road signs. The Vintgar Gorge is a must-see, its really beautiful, also Lake Bohinj and Kranska Gora. Go across the lake on the rowing boats to the island. It's very pretty and is a nice experience. We were there in late May and the weather was lovely, I would love to go back in the winter time. Enjoy the Crema Regina (cream cakes - speciality of the Park Hotel).

“Met all expectations”

Bled is a lovely town for a short stay - we actually stayed just one night but would have been happy to have stayed an extra one or two. The hotel was just as expected - slightly dated but good value - friendly and very helpful staff. Very convenient for the centre of Bled and the lakeside. Parking was a slight problem but they found us a space next door. Apparently there are weddings every day in Bled (ideal location) and at night there was a reception at the hotel but our room was far enough away from the celebrations so we weren't disturbed. Breakfast was good. Excellent free Wifi access. We actually drove to Bohinj for our evening meal which wasn't anything spectacular - very entertaining live music (1970s) though. Again, everyone was very helpful and friendly. All in all a great place to visit and it wasn't as commercialised as we had been led to believe. The walk around the lake is a must. Would def. like to return to Slovenia to explore more of their country.

“Good standard option centrally located in Bled”

This hotel is good value for the rate paid. There is nothing fancy about it but it's clean, comfortable and well located. Parking is convenient and there are a number of bars and restaurants are located nearby. For a great meal try 'Okarina' next to the Best Western Lovec Hotel. I would definitely return.
