“resort in the off-season”
The pool and hot tub/jacuzzi are big, clean, and really nice. Did not have time to use the fitness room, but it is of a good size with many stations. The breakfast was well laid out with good options. The homemade muffins were delicious.
“I would stay here again.”
The games in the game room were broken and should be fixed for people to use well staying there if they are going to advertise the game room. The restaurant should be open daily at certain hours so the hotel guests have a place right there to eat if they are going to stay at the hotel. There should not be a charge put on someones credit card for $50 just in case something happens to the room because people use that money for fun expenses or eating.
“Well Worth It”
This is a very nice Hotel just outside of a town with all you could need including Outlet Malls. The staff was awesome and there is a nice bar and resturaunt on site. Great pool and Hot tub A+
“A nice budget hotel”
My husband and I were staying at the Shalimar in December in order to move and visit a family member at a nearby nursing home in Laconia. So we really just wanted something cheap, clean and nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the Shalimar Resort. After a stressful and emotional day, staff was very accommodating and our room was very clean and comfortable. It looked like all the rooms had recently been updated and although the setup is more like a motel the rooms felt like nice hotel rooms. The pool and activities room were nice and it seems like it would be a fun place for families with kids. They do offer a dinner special for people staying at the hotel. The food wasn't spectacular but it was fine. Restaurant is comfortable and again service was really great and accommodating. Continental breakfast is also included and there are cereals, bagels, muffins etc. So plenty to choose from plus coffee, tea and orange juice. The hotel is on a busy more commercial street across from the lake. We didn't use the beach since it was December.
“Pleasant Enough”
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly suprised. The staff was friendly and the room was neat and clean, altough some updates are definatly needed. We did have a few disappointing moments for example the Restaraunt was closed on Sunday evening of a long weekend, then the vending machine was out of water which was inconvenient but not a major problem. Our biggest problem was when my husband went to plug in his breathing machine (needed for sleeping) and none of the outlets around the bed were grounded and we did not have an adaptor with us in order to plug it in. Nor did the front desk have one that we could use (we've learned to carry one from now on). The rooms came with a mini fridge which was great and thus had a grounded outlet. We made do by him sleeping at the foot of the bed in oder for his machine to reach the outlet (just had to be carefuel not to trip while going into the bathroom. Whew! Bathroom was clean & kind of cozy. But, BRING YOUR own towel unless you're a size 0. Overall it wasn't bad at all. It's definately a nicer Motel feel more than a "resort", but it does have touches of elegance. Video games, pool & ping-pong for the kids and althoguh the pool was cold & highly chlorinated, it was a great size/shape & very clean. The hot tub was great for adults. If you expect an updated, modern resort this may not be the place for you, but if you're not fussy, it's a great spot. We will most likely try it again but seems more of a summer desination.
“Disapointed”
The employees We're nice. The building was aged. I could hear the people above us walking around all night. Also our room was next to the pool door. This was very loud. Lastly the sheets had a light brownish colored stain. The pool and jacuzzi are very old
“Foamie hot tub”
I think the hotel should have fruit added to there breakfast menu and there hot tub was very dirty. I was disappointed that there was so much foam in the hot tub. I did not go in and after seeing the hot tub I did not dear go in the pool.
