The staff from the very beginning were one of the highlights of our stay. They were all very polite, helpful and very courteous. They helped make our stay very easy. The hotel is in La Spezia rather than Cinque Terre itself but the hotel is about a 1 minute walk to the train station. From there it is a 4 minute train ride to the first of the towns or a 9 minute ride to the last of them (no stops!). Then you can the ride the train between the towns taking as long as you like in each one. La Spezia is nothing special but it is a fun launch point with a few reasonable restaurants.

Well located hotel with bus stop a few mins walk away. Walking distance to most sights in La Spezia. Very helpful receptionists who provided details of train times.
Rooms for 2 people seemed of good size but the triple room we were in was very compact and with 3 small suitcases in the room, you felt cramped. There isn't really a place to lounge around in the foyer, which is a shame as it would have been a nice option for those with small rooms. Although there is a bar area with kitchen table and chairs. There is also a sofa on the 1st floor but it is directly outside some bedrooms, so you don't feel you can chat there.
Given there are not many hotels in La spezia, I can see why this hotel has a fair number of guests as it is a relatively low price for the area.

Very helpful staff with 24 hour front desk attendance. The location is very good being close to the train station that takes you to the all coastal villages. Plus the included free breakfast was nice.
At night there where many restaurants to choose from which is only a very short walk from the hotel.

The hotel used to be a convent and it has now been converted into a hotel run by a single family. It's amazing how good of a job they do for having only 3 people running a 5 story hotel. The rooms have just been restored, therefore everything looks brand new inside. I very much liked the breakfast: 3 home made torte (cakes), fresh bread and croissant with a cup of cappuccino. The price is very reasonable, therefore I highly suggest it.

We booked this last minute and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent location in the historic part of town. The room was spacious and excellent condition - huge bathroom. The landlady was really nice and very helpful with suggestions for great places to eat nearby. The price included Italian breakfast at a quirky cafe around the corner with the most amazing selection of teas.
It was okay for a noght's stopover on my way to Monterosso. I arrived late at night and was advise there was no loft to the floor my room was on, and no-one helped me with my luggage. My room was spacious enough, in the new part of the hotel. It was spotlessly clean with a large shower room, a minibar fridge and aircon. The room was quiet and the single bed was comfortable. The furniture was light, giving the room an airy feel.
Breakfast wasn't worth going down for to be honest, some hard rolls, croissants and stuff.
Not that great.
Again when checking out in the morning no one helped me with my bags coming down the stairs, despite a member of staff standing at the bottom!
I wouldn't rush back, but couldn't really fault it all that much either. If I was in a similar situation again I wouldn't be upset at having to use the hotel again.

Situated southeast of Genoa, the naval city of La Spezia offers an urban retreat amidst the surrounding coastal villages. The Museo Tecnico Navale entertains nautical enthusiasts with its exhibition of model ships and statuettes. Feed cultural cravings at the Museo Civico Amadeo Lia, or stroll the shop-lined Via del Prione and sip espresso at one of its many cafes.
