“La Perla Feb 2012”

I stayed here during Carnaval 2012, 2/16-2/20 - AMAZING! great staff, good location, nice rooms. epic terraces right on the Malecon. I returned for the following weekend and had just as great of time. If you feel like splurging on the malecon, this is the spot...

“La Paz Hotel, the best in the center of the Malecom”

Great location, service, helpfulness of staff. Taxis out front for any short jaunt. Clean swimming pool, towels furnished and clean pool bathrooms. Continental breakfast just right for mornings when wanting a smaller amount of food. Also full menu as desired. Best of all the sunsets from a couple of sitting areas. Can't beat it for the convenience as well.

“OK but...”

Hotel Perla is located on the malecon which is great or not. The Saturday & Sunday we were there the malecon was closed to traffic for a celebration so if you are driving & need to get out it is a hassle. Also parking was limited & cramped & getting out of the garage required maneuvering around support pillars & a chest type freezer while backing. Beds were comfortable but there was only 1 electric outlet in the room & that was in the bathroom. Lighting was dim with only one small light between the beds & one over a desk/dresser. Wi-Fi was weak or non-existent in the room. Price is definitely based on location not on room amenities.
