This was the ideal location for traveling around Kyoto! I also loved the little coffee shop just outside. The hotel's onsen was a treat to experience as well, especially after a cold, rainy day! The staff were extremely kind and helpful regarding check-in and luggage storage. I highly recommend staying here!

This hotel is good but the room was cramped, especially the bathroom. It feels like a hotel catering more for people on business trips, individual travelers, or single couples and could be too tight if staying with children. I chose this hotel hoping for a spot close to Kyoto Station. From Google Maps, it looks very close but turned out to be a tad further than expected, but not at all inconveniently far. From the hotel, both trains and local buses can be easily reached, and there are many fun scultpures in the area that show the way to the nearby train museum and aquarium. Also, though it looks far on Google Maps, it is an enjoyable walk from the hotel along the Kamo River to Gion or the Kawamarachi shopping district, especially if you walk at the water's edge. There are also many good places to eat nearby.

There is an open air bath on the 11th floor which is nice. Also on 11th floor are the washing machines. The walls are thin in this hotel so be mindful about the noises you make. Other than that, it's convenient and clean.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is 5 min walk from Kyoto station. With lots of places to eat and shop, both at the big station as well as the surrounding areas. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. However, very strict about check in and check out times (3:00pm, 10:00am). Courtesy Luggage storage is available. The room we got was on the station side and it was noisy. We requested another room and the staff were able to give us a room on the opposite side which was significantly more quiet. The room is very small and functional. The air conditioning is managed centrally and there's no control in the room, other than turning it on or off. In other words, the hotel may decide it's cooling time, or heating time, and you can't control the temperature of the room. We've been to APA hotels in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto and they all have the same air conditioning system. Overall, a decent place to stay while you're traveling around the city.
