Overall our experience at this hotel was good. We had a small issue when first arriving however the staff were able to help us. Positives: Great shuttle service to and from Kyoto station. Helpful concierge that showed us how to get to places we were unsure about. Good services my partner got his face shaved and massages and he loved this and for a reasonable price! Negatives: Breakfast in the French dining - it had a great view however we were not told that it was a set menu and as I am a vegetarian I wasn’t given a different option. Dinner buffet - found this extremely disappointing. We had to spend 5000yen each, which seemed very very expensive and with a limited selection of food. I would recommend staying at the hotel however I would suggest eating elsewhere. PS this is a very large hotel and doesn’t have a lot of atmosphere if that is something you are looking for.

Shuttle bus from Kyoto station v convenient. Excellent check in/ out service, room had comfortable beds. Good amenities, 14th fl revolving restaurant for breakfast was wonderful. Only issue was the time spent in catching elevator to 14th fl, only one available and took much longer than expected. A bit of an inconvenience to reach 14th fl restaurant, esp if you are on a tight schedule. Otherwise, service was excellent. Would stay here again on next Kyoto visit.

The sauna is men only. It’s a large hotel so staff too busy with tour groups to cater for my VIP access. . Great shuttle bus to station every 20 mins and handy for all public transport.

Great hotel to stay at in kyoto the buffet breakfast was excellent.The amenities were great. Kyoto station was at walking distance. Shuttle to kyoto station offered by hotel was amazing on last day with luggage.

This hotel is close to the train station and also offers a shuttle bus back and forth. Large mall 1 block away. Location is great. The buffets were lacking and expensive and the other restaurants in the hotel closed earlier than posted.

The room was spacious and extremely clean. Not sure why there wasn’t a microwave oven in the room. The coffee in the urns was far better than the instant machines. The breakfast buffet had many excellent options, but the bacon was not cooked and at certain times the area was extremely crowded and it seemed a bit disorganized.

Good sized room but the bed was too hard and the duvet was short and light. Not much choice for vegetarians in the various restaurants on site or on the breakfast buffet. The wellness centre and swimming pool has additional charges and only opens from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. Excellent concierge services and regular shuttle to the train station.

Hotel was in close vicinity to rail,subway and local bus terminal. Staff were very helpful and anxious to please. Free shuttle to kyoto train station was appreciated.

My wife said the room smelled when we first came in. She opened the window for a while until the smell was gone. We had a second room for our kids and my daughter said the seat was dirty and she wiped it with a Clorox wipe. The water in the shower every so often will become cold for a second or 2.

The property is really clean and beautiful. Very close to Kyoto Station and we loved the shuttle bus provided. We also loved the buffet breakfast included. Such a great variety of foods and we were able to try the traditional Japanese breakfast as well. Thank you for making our stay so amazing!

This was a very average tourist grade hotel. The rooms and building were older and of very average quality. Definitely not an 8-9 rating in my opinion. The staff was accommodating and nice.

You will hear the train tracks all night long even with your window shut. We were on the 9th floor and still heard the train all night long. The beds are not that comfortable and the blankets are even worse. It is right next the JR station about a 8 minute walk. The location is a bit ghetto. For a 4 star hotel, it seemed way below average. The bathroom is nicest part! Great water pressure.

Love that it was an easy walk from Kyoto Station. Great access to trains and buses. Love the Ramen Street at Kyoto Station. There are also eateries along the way like the Italian Pizzeria just in an alley opposite the hotel. Hotel rooms are also clean and spacious. Mattresses are a little too soft to my parents' liking. For me and my sis, the mattress is alright. The robes are comfortable and the towels are fluffy and of good quality. Toiletries are also of great quality. Love the many power points so it was easy to charge our devices. Staff are polite and helpful too. Also love the shuttle bus service.

Kyoto tower area was easily walkable from the hotel and Kyoto station. Part of the Japan experience is walking around to see the city. Breakfast buffet was good as well

An excellent hotel, conveniently close to Kyoto Station. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Shuttle bus to and from Kyoto Station is convenient if you have heavy luggage. I have stayed here many times and have had nothing but positive experiences.

Had an amazing stay at Rihga, the Tatami room is perfect for families with small children with plenty of space (even for our 7 pieces of luggage). Service was excellent and super impressed with the attention to detail and cleanliness.

Great location as only a short walk from the station and a shopping centre with food court is also a very short walk away. Staff were very accommodating in keeping our luggage before and after checkout. The hotel itself is in very good condition and the room was very large in comparison to the rest of Japan. Also had an almost normal size western bathtub which was a plus. Breakfast great for convenience but not a huge selection for western tastes.
