“The Zen-ith of Kyoto Hotels”
Charming home away from home. Right size, right location, right staff, in keeping with this historic and cultural centre of Geisha ceremonial grace.
“Fantastic Hotel, Decent Location”
Service, cleanliness, etc. of this hotel were top notch. We had a great room -- even the hallways smell nice. The location was good for seeing several of the well known temples, but it was a bit of a hike from the Geisha district & golden pavillion.
“hyatt kyoto”
excellent hotel, didn't want to leave, wish we had stayed longer. would stay there again, excellent value for money.
“Very nice”
Free internet in lobby, free gym, amazing concierge would make reservations the print out a map with the restaurant in english and japanese. Amazing service. All day bus passes available at the front desk and bus stop right in front of the hotel.
“Very nice hotel”
Very nice hotel with very helpful staff.
“Unparalleled service; English-speaking oasis”
Kyoto Hyatt Regency ended up being the finest hotel I've ever stayed in Japan.Every service person -- from the desk to the restaurants to the front door -- was kind and attentive. You won't lift a finger. You'll feel dirty not tipping these people! Tourists: The entire staff was helpful in recommending sites to visit in Kyoto. Even our waiter at the Italian restaurant had great recommendations! If you're visiting from the Western world, you'll definitely appreciate all three restaurants. Americans used to a hearty breakfast should definitely try The Grill's delicious breakfast buffet. This is the only place in Japan I've seen crispy bacon. Japanese food in Kyoto is amazing, but sometimes it's nice to have a taste of home. English speakers: I'm an American that speaks Japanese, but I never had to flex that lesser used language muscle as the entire staff spoke impeccable English. Even the person who brought our bags to our room spoke beautiful English! I'm Asian, but being married to a blonde with blue eyes had the staff's "English switch" on, and they always greeted us when we came back to the hotel: "Welcome back."
“great stay and great location”
Great stay but Internet is expensive, although there is free wireless in the lobby. Service is excellent and hotel is right across the street from Kyoto National Museum and Temple of 1000 Buddhas. About a half mile from Subway, location is uniquely convenient.
“Great hotel, great location”
Surprisingly large bedroom and great bathroom. Concierge staff very helfpul and patient. Great location for some of the main attractions.
“Excellent”
This hotel took us by surprise! Not only is the design and atmosphere of the hotel amazing, but the staff is extremely nice and helpful, and they made us feel like celebrities. The only downside is that the hotel restaurant is extremely expensive (10$ for a glass of orange juice!). Fortunately there are many eating opportunities close to the hotel.
“Nice and decently priced”
The hotel is fairly new, service is great and the 3 restaurants have great food.
