“Recommended place for a single traveller”

Hotel Oaks Kyoto Shijo is a japanese business hotel on Shijo-dori in the center of Kyoto located a 5-10minute walk from the Shijo subway station of the Karasuma line. Many restaurants and stores are located along Shijo-dori that leads right into the Gion district, although it is a long walk and using a bus to get to Gion would be recommended. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room clean, functional and larger than for example the single rooms of the Chisun business hotels. Slightly irritating was the fact that the bathroom fan ran constantly and couldn't be turned off (but with the bathroom door closed the noise was minimal), as well as the internet connection via unsecured wifi instead of via cable (there was a lan port in the room but no cable provided). Coin washers and dryers were available.

“Hotel bien situé à proximité des nombreux temples de Kyoto”

L'hôtel est très agréable et surtout bien situé. La gare est à 20 mn à pied. de nombreuses lignes de bus desservent également les différents quartiers. Le quartier Higashiyama est à une vingtaine de minutes à pied. Aucune nuisance sonore particulière malgré sa situation en ville. Deux petits commerces de proximité au bas et en face de l'hôtel permettent le "dépannage". Agréable séjour à Kyoto qui est une très belle ville.
