The room is quite standard japanese hotel size. The hotel provides a public bath but its shared by males & females with scheduled time slots for each gender. Because the hotels main clients are business customers, the majority of the time slots for the public bath are for males, but there's always a sign outside stating who's meant to be using it. Within 15 minutes drive, you will find supermarkets, coffee shops, book/dvd store & chemist.

"If you are transiting from Kumamoto Bus Terminal"
This is the best choice. 1 min walk from tram station that takes you to Suzenji Koen.
Walking distance to the castle and downtown. Plenty of places to eat.
No view from the hotel, very tiny rooms - semi double.
We didn't go for breakfast so no comment on that.
I'd say practical hotel with decent pricing.

Quality of building, cleanliness and staff all good.
Sorry to say I didn't enjoy the bed. The 2 pillows were poor. One like a gravel filled bag the other so soft it didn't support my head at all. The cover for the duvet caused it to continually slip off the bed.
V good breakfast quality, quantity and variety.
