“A True Getaway”
The staff were INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. If the location itself doesn't impress you, the service will. It was low season when we went so the hotel and island were pretty deserted. Perfect for a little, secluded getaway but if you're looking for a lively scene Tonsai Bay is a better pick. It was absolutely beautiful here and I'm pining to go back.
“Secluded and Relaxing Ko Phi Phi Getaway”
Overall we were very satisfied with this resort. This place stays busy even in the off season which we saw as a good sign. Very satisfied with the quality of hotel service, we were upgraded to a beachfront bungalow even though only paid for a garden view bungalow. The location is definitely secluded so if you're looking for a more private and relaxing vacation this is the perfect place but if you're looking to party probably should stay at Ton Sai village. You must take a 25 minute water taxi from Ton Sai pier to get to the hotel which is located at the top of the island. The bungalows were simple, nice and clean. The hotels beach is very nice with clear waters and decent snorkeling and they will rent you out snorkel equipment free of charge. Would highly recommend the Sunset Bar at the top of the hill. Also would recommend booking a 4 hour longtail boat tour to Ko Phi Phi Ley.
“Good place for a romantic getaway.”
Best Sunset on the island!
“Excellent!!!! Magmificent!!!!”
I want to go back to this wonderful place!!! It's a paradise!!!
“Excellent Value”
It's a little isolated, but that can be a good thing. There weren't a lot of dining options apart from the surrounding resorts and sea gypsy village, so be prepared to spend a little more. I would recommend spending a little extra to have breakfast included at the hotel. I was really satisfied with our stay and quiet surroundings. Also, if you are interested in taking a boat tour, arrange it at the sea gypsy village instead of the hotel. They will hook you up with an identical itinerary at a fraction of the cost.
“Awesome spot”
We initially booked 4 nights here, and ended up staying another night. Room was awesome. Snorkling outside hotel beach was fantastic. The service was outstanding here. We LOVED the sunset bar. Not easy to get around to Tonsai Bay, but to be honest... we really enjoyed the break from the intense area of Patong. My only complaint to the hotel, is we boarded a ferry to go to Tonsai to connect to Phuket to go home. We got on, 2 hours later leave Tonsai, to go straight back to where our hotel was and for other long boats to come and let travelers board. We checked out at 11:00, waited till 1:00 for ferry, got to Tonsai at 3:00 and headed right back to our hotel spot. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a gigantic waste of time. That is worth asking about.
“Amazing Secluded Spot”
The time I had at this hotel was one of the best ever- lovely, not crowded beach, attentive service, good food, private bungalow, magical atmosphere... I am only sorry I did not stay longer. My only slight complaint is that it was quite an adventure getting there. First I took a plane to Phuket, then a taxi to Phuket town, then a ferry to Phi Phi, then some private boat to that side of the island, and finally a four-wheel drive vehicle down the beach to the hotel. Since I was only going for a day and a half, that was a lot. There is some mythical ferry that you can apparently get from Phuket Town that goes right there (Adamon Ferry or something?), but I never did find it. My recommendation is go for at least four days, and if you can't find the ferry that drops you there (it would definitely be worth the extra money if you can find it), don't let the long-boat drivers at Phi Phi harbor overcharge you for a private ride. Just after the pier, on the right, at the corner of the main drag into town is a tourist agency that will charge you a minimal fee for a semi-private boat leaving at set times. I only had to wait about 45 minutes after the arrival of the ferry from Phuket. Also, I would recommend paying in advance for your transfer back to Phuket airport when you get your ferry tickets. Enjoy this paradise!!! I would go back in a heartbeat.
“very keen to return”
The week started with an upgrade to a beach front bungalow (from a sea-view). I was expecting the bungalows to be con-joined but again was very pleasantly surprised to find that ours was completely separate and just a few steps from the beautiful beach. Everything was superb and mostly because it was exactly what I was expecting as far as the beach and snorkelling was concerned - I spent many hours exploring the underwater life and found countless adorable anenome (clown) fish and lots more to get me coming back for more! Also the beach scene itself was hassle free - no-one haggling to get the sun lounges before breakfast, plenty of beautiful shady trees to relax under for the whole day, beautiful sounds of Thai music in the restaurants. The whole atmosphere at the resort was idyllic - gently welcoming, secure and relaxed. We had one of our most enjoyable and relaxing holidays ever. Thank you so much.
“Best of Phi Phi”
We started to love the hotel since the warm welcome when we just arrived. The hotel is excellent in every aspects and definitely the first choice in Phi Phi. Thai food in this hotel is also extremely good.
“Phi Phi island and Holiday Inn. Thumbs up!”
Just recently came back from Thailand (Feb 2012) and my husband and I had an amazing time! Phi Phi island is a beautiful place to stay. We stayed for 5 days but wished we stayed longer. Beach is amazing and the pool is fantastic too. The hotel is great, we got upgrated to the Junior Suite (highly recommend) which was right next to the second pool. The room was fantastic, balcony with great views of the beach and very quite. The only downside (and its not major) is that there are only 2 restaurants available, one being buffet and the other has a set menu. The one that has the set menu has amazing food, but the service is pretty slow (but you get that everywhere in Thailand) however it is located directly on the beach so you have amazing views! Totally recommend staying at Holiday Inn, great location on the island as well!!! Tip: the ferry to get there is a bit annoying, i would next time go with a private speedboat and not sit in an old ferry that takes its time to get to the island!
