The property adopts a very good concept to be in good harmony with the nature! The ocean view from the villa, restaurants and the spa is spectacular. All staff members are friendly and helpful. To enable this hotel to stay competitive, the facilities such as the toilet and faucet can be renovated. The food quality of the restaurants can also be improved.

The resort is showing a little wear and tear-the staff and food however were excellent-strange that the hotel doesn’t participate in the ihg rewards program-overall a pleasant experience

We loved our villa and the general vibe for Six Senses - we stayed in another SS in Vietnam last year which in comparison was much better in terms of service. Our GEM in Koh Samui seemed rather indifferent to us, which was surprising given that we were staying in one of the more premium rooms and we weren't offered any of the offers that other guests seemed to have - ie 2 for one massages in the spa and complimentary laundry - is this because we booked via Expedia rather than directly as we did with our previous booking in Vietnam?

The resort is situated on the tip of the island on top of a hill so the view is stunning! The pool overlooks the Bay Area where you can catch a magnificent view of sunset. The rooms were well equipped with mosquito repellent and aloe vera gel, very clean as well. Some downsides though: - too many flies. I suspect this is due to left over food pieces and not enough fogging. - we saw a cockroach (huge) in our room and lizard too... very terrifying but the resort manager did not apologise. They just came in with a spray. - the water sports and tours are outsourced to a third party operator, which I don’t think the resort is responsible for. So we were taken to a “fishing village” which was more like an island in the middle of the ocean with a few locals. Trash was everywhere and I don’t think this warrants a nice excursion for a five star resort. Experience was disappointing... however the third party offered a discount to us. But the whole process was not controlled by six senses.

Overall we are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the resort setting and facilities, along with the high standard that they are all maintained. Unfortunately, we can experience an increase of flies and insects during the dry season, where rest assured we do our utmost to control by good sanitisation and related pest control methods. In addition to our own team, we contract an internationally recognized company who are dedicate to eradicate such pests, even with such its virtually impossible to eliminate all in such a natural and lush environment. Please accept my sincere apology in how we handled your concerns, as we should have done much more to ensure you felt comfortable and appeased. Lastly, your comments were raised with our water-sports operator and they have promised to avoid such places in the future, ensuring our guests to have the very best experience whilst staying with us. On property we take waste extremely seriously, fuelling our desire to refuse, reduce and re-purpose as much potential waste as possible to which we are now a leading force on the island. Once again I am truly sorry for your negative experiences, I can only hope that you will give us another chance to prove our commitment to our valued guests. Yours sincerely,

The location, although a little isolated, is great. The shuttle bus is convenient except that the schedule is not the most convenient. Since our first visit over five years ago, some corners have been cut in the F&B area.

Cosy hotel nestled in nature
Great hotel guest rooms with interesting separation of spaces, providing flexibility in controlling or commanding views. Most impressive is the dining experience. Dining on the Rock is especially fantastic. I and my wife was showered under the full moon luckily, which adds more to our 30th wedding anniversary celebration. Staff attendance and warmth were also worth commending. All services and environment were luxurious without exaggeration, and very environmentally friendly. They have a yard for recycling all the waste from the kitchen, for composting, turning into cleansing agents, etc. A hotel with a philosophy in respect of nature. If the private plunging pool could be made more private by inserting planting or bamboo screen between two villas, that would be perfect.

Eco Luxury with down to earth friendly staff
As amazing as the views, staff, spa, pools, and other amenities were - the FOOD was the best part and that is very important to me. They have their own hens producing eggs ON SITE, they grow their own herbs, they use lemongrass stems instead of plastic straws - etc. Definitely get BREAKFAST INCLUDED, it is absolutely worth it. Although there is a breakfast buffet, there is also a daily-changing menu of a la carte you can have made to order. Another important aspect of this resort - PRIVACY - the rooms and private pools are very PRIVATE and you can really enjoy without a care.

Eco friendly resort
Six senses was a friendly resort which meet our expectations. All staff were very attentive and gracious, we found that after several days dining options were very limited ie only two restaurants, dining on the rocks was ridiculously expensive and not in keeping with the character of the resort the menu obviously hadn't been trialled and was very disappointing. The spa treatments were caring . We would return again and select a villa with a pool as unfortunately there were many very loud other Asian guests not ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Could try harder, lost its edge?
Some highs - lovely pool, amazing sea views, great little bar, excellent resort shop, GEM Patrick very helpful. Some lows - too many flies and ants around the food, pleasant service overall but not really proactive or top notch, food rather bland, no word from or sighting of site manager. Beautiful place and really wanted to enjoy it, which we did, but for the price charged, the whole resort and some of the staff really are in need of a bit of an update and a shake-up. Six Senses Vietnam scores better on most aspects.
