“Fantastic Punnpreeda Beach Villa”
Punnpreeda Pool Villa in Koh Samui is a fantastic option for a family... As a family we wanted to avoid the exclusive 5-star hotels where you can feel too far removed from the real Koh Samui experience, as well as their high prices. Punnpreeda was excellent value and provided the perfect base from which to explore this amazing island. First of all this is a small resort with only about 15 villas, we stayed in a beach front villa that provided wonderful views across the bay to Big Budda. Don't get excited about the beach which is non-existent, however we knew this when booked so no shakes. The villa itself is really big with plenty of space for a family with two large bedrooms, kitchen area, dining area and plenty of sofas to chill. Breakfast was always delivered at the time asked and was excellent quality. It was also a nice touch to provide free chilled beers, soft drinks and Thai whiskey. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful, you can not ask for better hosts. Punnpreeda is in a perfect location to explore Koh Samui and it's beaches. We hired a car for the duration which gave us the freedom to come and go as we pleased. We knew the resort had no beach but we wanted to try out the beaches which were mostly within about 10-15 minutes i.e. Choeng Mon, Maenam, Bophut, etc so lots of options for a great day at the beach, we were also close to Fishermans Village which was great for evening meals.
“Perfect!”
One of the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. The quality of the hotel is exceptional. Each villa is spacious and has lovely terrace with a pool. Breakfast is delivered to your room and is of great quality. The fridge was stocked every day with wine, soft drinks, beer, still and sparkling water (completely free!). The staff is wonderful, extremely professional and helpful. Thanks for a very memorable trip and we would highly recommend this resort!
“Best Resort in Koh Samui”
I highly reccomend this beachside resort. Located in a quiet spot not too far away from Fisherman`s village. The villa was excellent as were all the staff. A special thanks to "Honey" for looking after us so well with a yummy breakfast each morning. We would definately stay here again. AAAAA+++++++++
“An amazing experience....”
An amazing experience.... privacy, great service and great location
“Beautiful hotel on a not so good beach.”
The hotel room was very nice and the staff extremely friendly. The only negative we found was that the beach had a lot of trash and rocks on it. The hotel is in a cove and therefore collects a lot of junk that is washed up. I wouldn't go it the water for fear of underwater trash ie. broken bottles. The hotel transported us the a much nicer beach for a nomial fee. It was not far and had shopping near by. They served our complimentary breakfast in our room each morning which was a treat as we could eat in p.j.s! We had a hot tub on our patio that looked out over the gulf with beautiful plants all around us. The beds where kingsize, however very firm. They restocked our refridgerator each day with pop, water, beer, juice and a bottle of wine.
“Nice little Hotel with an even nicer hotel staff”
My first time in Thailand was great and being at the Pumpreeda Pool Villa has helped it to be even better. The rooms (we stayed in two different rooms) were great. The fact that there was a private swiming pool in each room's backyard was fantastic. The staff was very kind. Most of them could communicate perfectly in English. Even though there was always something missing in the breakfast, the food was excellent. Also, the shuttle service was very good and in case one wants to use it as a cab service, it is cheapper, more reliable and less dodgy than the local taxi services. Just have in mind that you won;t be able to enjoy the beach that's just in front of the hotel because it is not very good but commuting to better beaches is very easy with the hotel staff assistance. I would definetely go back.
“Could be just what you're looking for.”
Unfortunately the spa bath was worn out- rusted jets and the plumbing a bit ordinary- there was a constant odour from the pipe vents in the bathrooms. The setting was superb- especially the gardens and the view. We were away from the tourists but close to restaurants, shops and tour operators. Although the staff were very helpful, I think there is an expectation that patrons will tip the workers for everything, even when they are employed to do the work and receive a wage for their work. i reckon we pay enough for the rooms without adding tipping on top for little services that were included in the package such as serving breakfast or ordering a taxi. We got sick of breakfast in our room in the end and wished we'd stayed at a resort with a restaurant by the pool. The pool, although tiny was pleasant and clean. If you are after complete privacy, a private beach and don't wish to eat outside your room at breakfast, this place offers all that. Also the taxi drivers try to rip you off big time in Samui- and that was also off putting. We'd come from Chiang Mai and this isn't the custom there.
“Punpreeda Pool Villas”
The hotel staff were very friendly, and even upgraded us to a double bedroom suite which was very nice. One of the bathrooms smelt very damp and was infested with mosquitoes. The plunge pool was great but as it was so close to the water tank which kept it running so it was infested with mosquitoes also so you could not enjoy your swim without being bitten constantly. The breakfast was ok and the beach was quiet and nice but full of sharp rocks which cut out feet many times so I would not recommend walking or swimming in the water without thongs or sneakers.
“Not what we expected...”
When we arrived here, we were shocked at the condidtion the resort was in. The bathroom had not been cleaned and even had mould growing on the blinds. The deck around the pool was so weathered you could have pushed through the timber. To top off this shock, there wasn't hot water in the shower. This was awful and had to move hotels. In saying this the staff were pleasent and were quick to try and help, but this was not the start to the honeymoon we were looking for.
