The hotel exceeded my expectations. Daniella and the staff are super friendly. the hotel pictures dont give it justice as it is so neat and beautiful. Everything is so well put together and you can tell it was made with a lot of care. The food was soooo goood and even though the menu is set, the staff and the chef make any change you make with extreme delight.

We cannot say enough about this resort. Everything was beyond perfect. We worked with Asia in the tourism/trip office there on the premises and she arranged a different excursion for us everyday - from swimming with the dolphins to a fishing village visit to the spice farm to the monkeys in Jozani Forest. The food was great, the ocean clear, the premises spectacular. If you want a great place to stay in Zanzibar please choose Neptune Pwani. You will not be disappointed!!

Beautiful white sandy beaches with turquoise water. Amazing variety in food every meal.
The hotel has activities the whole day for everyone, there is one dinner around the pool and one dinner on the beach every week. We had our two very young children with us, and the staff went out of their way to please us/ the kids.
The staff is so friendly and helpful, we had a amazing stay. The spa was also great, with a good variety of treatment.. the couple massages was amazing.
I would recommend a beach hut which we stayed in, I cant imagine staying in a garden villa as it is not too close to the beach.
I have no complaints about this hotel, everything was perfect and a great value for money. Go you wont be disappointed!

We had a great 4 night stay at Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar this December. The service was excellent, rooms were perfect, and the resort is set against an amazingly beautiful white sanded backdrop. The staff did everything from arrange a private beach dinner for us to pack us a snack pack for our early morning departure to the airport. You won't have to travel out of the resort for much - the facilities really do cover most needs.
Three drawbacks come to mind - the ever annoying beach-boys and shopkeeper Masai that hound guests who walk the beach pretend to be friendly when they just want to get money out your pocket. The price of drinks at the resort is high. Going full board may save you lots of money. The resort is also on the eastern side of the island. So expect 60min trips to and from the airport or Stone Town.
The Safari Blue and Slave Market tours are a must.
Take your own hat! If you have to buy one on the beach the starting price to foreigners is $17.50 for a cheapie.
Other than that, I'd recommend the resort to anybody.

I had a delightful stay at this resort. The grounds were impeccable, the rooms were beautiful, and the beach was absolutely gorgeous. The main strength of this resort, though, is its friendly, courteous staff. I was there just for rest and relaxation, and it was just perfect.

The Waikiki Resort was just magical, it really was like paradise. The staff are so friendly and the owners are always there to help with and queries about the island or culture. The resort itself is like something from a magazine and I was so impressed, also the food was delicious! I would recommend this to anyone looking to escape and relax on a beautiful beach.

Fabulous location, exceptional customer service from all staff. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Main rest. - lots of choice, salads, grill, hot, puds - lovely. Italian was good. The beach and pool side evening meals were well organsied with more choice - including a good range of local dishes - definately worth trying. Local beers good - did run out of Tusker a couple of times - but alway alternative on hand - try local Gin!
Gardens were beautifully maintained and as we visited in April lots of flora everywhere.
April weather (be prepared) very hot / humid - with storm each day for around 2-3 hours of rain - can be all day!
Easter weekend - the clientelle increased massively in the hotel for 3 -4 days be prepared!
All over a really lovely break for a week and would highly recommend. There is nothing quite like the beautiful Indian Ocean

Overall this is a very good hotel. Rooms are basic but clean and service is excellent. This is a really all inclusive hotel. Everything is included into the price including drinks, watersport activities e.t.c
Keep in mind that this is an Italian hotel. Majority of the guests are Italians and all activities conducted in Italian language.

Two days into our stay, the phone woke us at 6:30 am. To ask us if we were checking out. We said no, we had two more days and tried to go back to sleep. They called our room every hour on the hour until I went to the front desk at 10:00 am. I was told they had no record of our reservation, and that we would have to check out. After producing the confirmation in writting, we were told it was a mistake on our part, and that we would have to change rooms. There was a family checking in that wanted our room. After telling them that our family was just as important as the one checking in,we were told the manager would find us later and that this would HAVE to be settled!!!!!! They were very disrespectful, and it was so stressful our son had a panic attack- not exactly the family vacation memories you want to cherish!!!! To make a very long story short we were harassed, they would not clean our room for 24 hours, the manager never sought us out and we only saw the manager because we demanded to see him upon check out and told them we would just wait. Never an apology for ruining the remainder of our stay. If you choose this hotel, choose cautiously bring everything in writting and duplicates- then you will still be told you're wrong! We have traveled a good bit and this is the worst we have ever been treated!
