“grandness and charm of hotels in Europe”
reminded us so much of grandness and charm of hotels in Europe It was our second stay, with the first a few years ago. It reminded us so much of the hotels we stayed at as we traveled across Europe Also loved the breakfast there. Was very nice!!
“Great Hirstoric Hotel”
Walper Terrace has a lot of character and is a great place to stay.
“Pride of ownership”
I was impressed with my stay at The Walper. The facilities and atmosphere are the best in the market in my experience. It's a traditional hotel with a modern feel and personal service that you don't find elsewhere with cookie cutter competitors. The staff art the hotel was very engaged and I have to assume this is because the owner/manager lives on site as I was told. Pride in ownership was clearly evident. I will stay there again.
“Historical Hotel (exceptional value)”
I was very satisfied with my stay at the Walper. It's a charming historical hotel, centrally located, with an attention to great value for the services and accomodations offered. À recommander!
“Awesome!”
Great place to stay. Friendly staff and service.
“Pleasantly surprised”
We love "character hotels" and this one did not disappoint us in the least. Staff were great and the charm and ambiance of a "grand old hotel" was great. I would recommend to anyone....
“Good hotel”
Great place to stay, very close to bus station, staff are friendly and helpful
“Historic Walper Hotel”
The Walper Hotel is in downtown, at the very center of the city. As an historic old hotel, there are some minor cracks in the plaster in the halls. Nothing wrong functionally that I could see. The staff was very pleasant. Pub/restaurant and coffee shop and barber are on site. I only tried the pub, it was fine. The only annoyance is due to its age and location, there is no on-site parking. You need to park in a parking garage, which is less than a half block away to walk back and forth. You need to enter the lot around the corner. You can either handle the parking at the lot, or the hotel will signal to the city to let you go in and out unlimited for the same price you would pay at the lot. Remember the ticket to have the front desk change its status. You need to remember to keep the ticket after that.
“Walper Hotel March 2012”
A really nice historic hotel in downtown Kitchener. Close to everything and easy parking. The suite layout made it terrific for travelling with a teenager. Cost was the same/cheaper as more common chain hotels. Free wifi.
“Definitely will stay again”
Very nice old building. Up to date inside. Friendly staff. Clean. Was a bit surprised to have to pay $13 a day for parking but ok.
